I'm often curious with how everyone came up with their town names! Do they have some special meaning? Is there a good story behind the name or a lol story or just plain silly! Want to share?

My first town was on the first gen iPad, and I called it Dalaran, from the game of World of Warcraft. It was a city and was one I enjoyed hanging out in on a character I play. Since then I have changed it to Rock on Baby temporarily, as I havent decided on a good name yet. My iPad 3rd generation has my current main town Chazani's Town. The name Chazani is the name of my character in the games I play.
Sharazani.

My city is Raven Crest - reason not to original I just love ravens - live way up north - they are smart, talkative and fun - 1. In Whitehorse they have learned how to sit on street lights - they droop their wings over it to make it dark and the light comes on and warms them up when it minus 30-40! 2. I've seen them play with dogs, cats and deer! They swooped down at the deer and the deer actually reared up to "slash" at them! Did it several times. Don't think the deer thought it was playing 3. Saw a domestic cat and three rw end play on street for 1/2 hr. the ravens had the cat in the middle and when the cat would charge them they would just glide over the cat - never tried to hurt it - I'm positive they were both having fun Anyway - I love ravens therefore Raven Crest Would love to hear your stories-

Fun thread! mytown2.net go! was chosen because i wanted to help promote this site, but most importantly to steer random visitors of my town to this forum for help. there's only so much, i myself, can do. a gift here and a gift there can only go so far. if they see the "message" in my town's name, they can at least lurk here and learn a thing or two.

I love your raven story, Raven! The raven is one of my totems - in the east, actually.
I chose my name because I'm a professional knitter and have a stash of yarn large enough to build a house with. The "goddess" part came in partly because of my spiritual beliefs, and also because I believe every woman is a goddess.
Thanks for starting this thread!

Our children (lovingly) call our home the ranch of misfits due to the animals we care for. A one-eyed horse, an FFA market lamb that was spared from the auction, a lame wild burro, a retired cutting horse, a rescued Boston terrier and an ancient cat. All are just the current inhabitants of our modest homestead. Life is good.

I tend to follow an "Arch" pattern in games i play (my online buds call me Archy) so in World of Warcraft I have Archyangel, Archbishop, Archduke, Architect, etc... My female goblin mage is even named Archbeyonce haha Im not religious but i love the mythology of the entire Angelic Hierarchy, and to me Archangel sounds the nicest to say. I like to think of Archangels as more than just messenger boys, i think of them as Holy Warriors, and being a medic in the Canadian Forces, Im kind of a Warrior of the Light So hence my screenname and city name!

What a great idea Raven! I really enjoyed the story behind your name. Ravens are such beautiful and smart birds, I can't believe that until recently I didn't even know they could speak.
My name is pretty straight forward, I live by the ocean so Oceanside. I usually stick to Sumerian and Babylonian deities for my game names but decided to try something different this time.

My husband's family, the Hollisters, are from Hollisterville, PA. I've always thought it was cool that he was born in a town that was named for his family, so my town's name is like a little tribute to him.

What a great thread. And it makes me wish my town was called something really cool like FloatySpiritsville or StumpyMonkeystown. However mine is called NewZealander for obvious reasons .. I'm from Finland.

Love hearing all the stories. Great thread! My son named the town. Snibull is the nickname my kids gave to our cat, Snowball. The big town part came from my 6 year old ... it's a "big town".

Good idea, this. About 10 years ago, a guy I worked with started calling me Shabba after Mr Ranks who sang Mr Loverman (yes, he called me it for the reason you're thinking ) and now, after all these years, my ringtone is that song. I live in a multicultural suburb with lots of people of West Indian origin, who tend to call their homes their 'yard', hence Shabba's Yard.

When I first started playing mt2, I wanted a town with only the best stores and huge mansions surrounded by lots of land. I chose the name diamond city because everyone in town was supposed to be wealthy. You can imagine how crushed I was when I found out the prices of the best stores and mansions. Add to that the fact that there's not that many mansions to buy and land is limited. Before I knew it shacks were being built and people were pitching tents on the street. I'm now happy with my little town thanks to all the robin hoods who donated handsomely.
