You are right about that Brendasue. I'm always encountering needing a few more of a certain building item and the ones I have take up a lot of space.

Who knew duct tape was so rare? Have you seen all the colors and patterns real duct tape comes in now? I go thru my truck orders and trash the ones I know I don't want to fill. I wait till the game gives me more. Eventually, I get one or two I'm willing to fill. I think I've done about 5 today. What is your GameCenter id? You can pm me if you don't want to publish it.

Well I'm pretty much stuck at this point. I have no room in my barn or silo and can't get the materials to upgrade them. I'm afraid to sell anything else because it seems like every time I sell something I read on here that I'll need it later. I don't really see any point to using some of this stuff to make other stuff since I'll end up in the same spot when everything is done being made. Any suggestions on what I should sell? Oh and I'm completely out of gems because I accidentally clicked on one of my apple trees when it didn't have any fruit, so I can't even buy things to upgrade. Judy, I tried helping on your ship yesterday but I didn't have the materials needed. Too bad it's not like Big Farm where you can give someone a gift even if you don't have it.

Hi Leilani,
This morning, I'm going for XP by growing hay and selling it at minimum. I do advertise it frequently.
The way I'm getting building materials to expand my barn and silo is by spending 3 gems per mystery box. Also, as I harvest crops (free). Yes, I am spending real money at this point, but not on other games.
Don't worry about filling my ship. Someone usually does unless it's really hard like ice cream cones.
A way to get access to many mystery boxes is to get to new farms via the sales ad. You don't have to buy from them.

The Market
This is the intriguing part of the game to me. Even the lowliest items sell if priced low and advertised, like hay for 10 coins. Someone wants whatever we have, but they have to have a way to find us. A side benefit is that some folks are looking for ships to help out.
What is interesting to me is that, in the market, we are dealing with human behavior, not what the game designers built into their rules. I'm recalling a documentary I saw where students in a college class kept on buying in a stock market simulator even though they would have to pay some of their own real money when they went over a certain limit. They were determined to win, no matter the cost.
I wish we could have a way to get back to our buyers.
I rejoiced this morning to see the image of a young girl who bought all the hay I had. I realized I was helping her enjoy the game.
Another thought is that buyers do not have to worry that cheap products are inferior, unlike the real world.

I've got a new ship with 3 hay crates, calling for 60 each. I'll earn more and get XP by filling them. I could use some help with apples, though.
I'll ask for help with ice cream cones, but don't expect to get it.
Edit: Wow! A stranger who bought my hay and 1 juice filled all 3 of my apple crates. It does pay to advertise, even humble hay. Very key to have it cheap, though.

GAHH!!!!! I go away for a few days or so, dealing with RL things, and here I come on and miss all this fantastic conversation about hay day! I use Tom frequently to get me materials to fill my boat up, and when I don't need the boat stuff, he always get me my shovels.. I sometimes stock up on upwards of 100 shovels, and I can get about 40- 60 diamonds in the mine with 100 shovels. The metal ores sells ALL the time in the market. I have been trying to get materials to help fill up your boats but alas, your boats are full and sent off before I have enough to fill your boats!! I have not bought any gems since the last 2 were on sale (the 570 and 1500 gems) and I still have over 1000 left. I have had 3 sale priced gems pop up for the 3750 gems at 30% off. I have heard that if you wait long enough, they may give a bigger discount. Btw, the Deal of the day in the newspaper, do NOT spend any gems on it. Really, the kid would be worth spending gems for and he can get you those items every 2 hours in coins cost instead of gems. I also have fun spending some time going through the newspaper for any building materials and buy them on the spot.. They are not often to come by. This morning I managed to get 7 wood panels, 4 panel, 3 screws, 1 duct tape and 3 bolts. Sure wish I couild get more of the others If there are any of you that do not have me on GC for this hay day, my GC is Chazani . (Edit) Well I just checked my boat that arrived.. 4 crates of 8 pumpkins, I had plenty, 4 crates of 10 popcorns each, and 4 crates of 23 soybeans ... Fun!

Judy- we are already friends! I got your GC ID from this thread I am s0 smrt on Hay day. I tried for two days to get those final 2 duct tapes to upgrade, then finally spent diamonds. I just got a boat and have filled three so far. I have been buying 50 gems every other day just to get the boy to find stuff for the boat. I never get those discount offers for gems, but if I do I'll probably stock up.

Brenda, when the sale pops up, you have 1 hour to decide you want to buy it, and it only lets you buy the discounts once of that pack of diamonds. I was wondering who so smart and a few others on my list were Duct tape are rare. I have better luck with other materials. Land deeds and duct tapes and screws are the hardest for me to get.

Glad to know who you are on Hay Day Brenda Sue.
Thanks for the advice Chazani! I have bought some of the daily deals, but will discontinue. I will also go for the shovels with Tom as you suggested.
I'm having trouble getting enough Pink Vouchers to get the Tuxedo Cat. I have enough of the others, even the tan ones. Does the speed with which you fill the boat, or the number of crates you fill vs. having others fill have anything to do with what color voucher you get when you ship?

I've heard with the vouchers they are random. I have tons of green and blue vouchers. And only a few purple and gold. It looks like they have the purple and gold intentionally as the hardest to get, when I looked at the cost of the vouchers gold was the most expensive. I haven't bought any since they are not in my price range. It would be so cool if they allowed selling vouchers in the roadside shop. I'm sure they would go as fast as building items but at least it would give more chances to get them.

The boat gives random tokens. They are like the billboard metal bar orders. All random. I was hoping to get 9 yellows, but when I saw there was that black stallion, I will save my vouchers and get to level 40 for them Many of the bulletin orders I trash them if they are below 300 coin rewards. XP Im not worried about as I can get that from harvesting etc. Well, my next boat order is buttered popcorn, brown sugar, and chili popcorn.. Knowing each one will demand at least 10 per crate, and the brown sugar more than that. I will probably send the boat away without filling it... There is no way with the long time of making the items Ill be able to get it filled in the 15 hours they give a time of unless its below 10 each... Even tho the ores don't sell for a lot, they do sell very quickly. you can have a roadside shop full of the ores, and every one will be sold within minutes of 1 advertisement.

I avoid the lock boxes, I think 3 gems for what you get back isn't a good deal lol but when I've needed stuff for building the barn/silo I'll open the box, if it's not what I want I close off my game, reboot it and it doesn't take my gems I think some of the boxes are free but...if you have gems you can't tell? I tried this and it works! Right now I have more boards, planks, and coins than I need. So it's great to be able to see what's in a locked box before I pay 3 diamonds for something I don't really want. I would pay the diamonds for duct tape. That stuff is my nemesis haha

Interesting, I have not thought of doing it that way with lockboxes. But then, I rather save the diamonds for that lazy bugger who helps me fill up boats, and gets me my shovels . I might try and see if I get what I want in building materials, and has anyone seen land deeds from the boxes??

I can only remember getting land deeds from harvesting crops and making products but I don't recall getting them from the boxes. I'll try to pay more attention. Before I got the mine I was just selling the shovels. But now that I know I can get diamonds from the mine, I'm hoarding them . Using the boy to get shovels then using the shovels in the mine is a good way to turn coins into diamonds. As long as I can find at least 15 to pay for Tom for the day.

I am playing hay day. Chazani is one of my favorite neighbors and I had no idea you were on my GC because of my town. I read the first post in this thread and it put a smile on my face. Anyways, my GC is jorule77. I'm level 43. Please feel free to add me. Hay day is awesome, and I'm also glad we can't cheat on it. Btw: I'm prepping for TT II.

I read this thread and noticed that everyone is using diamonds for buying tape and other supplies. Please don't do this. We can help each other out. Just post what you want, hopefully you can make a deal with a fellow player, and then go to hay day, put up 1 wheat in the last crate, after the person you are gonna trade with buys the wheat , you put up the item. It's way no one else buys the item. Then repeat this process at the other persons farm. Also, I just went to Judy's farm and saw she needed cream for her boat, did u know, that if you don't like what the boat is asking for, before you fill a single crate on the boat, you can cast it off by tapping on the boat icon? It will ask you if you want to cast it off, tap on yes, and you will get a new bot in 4 hours. Its a hassel in my opinion to fill a boat asking for dairy or sugar items for a green or blue voucher.
