Dutch Butter Cake
1 lb. Butter 3 c. sugar 5 eggs 4-41/2 c. flour 4 tsp. Almond extract
Cream butter and sugar (as in pie crust). Add eggs and almond extract. Add flour to make a soft paste (not sticky). Pat into a greased cookie sheet. (use two sheets if small - dough shouldn't be more than approx. 1") Bake 20 min at 350 degrees till lightly brown. Optional – brush beaten egg yolk over top before baking. (I don't do this!)

You guys were killing me with the PB & J marriage, divorce, bigamy conversation. Here's one of my favorites, mainly because people think it takes a lot more work than it really does.
Chicken (I use boneless breasts, but you can use bone in breasts, legs, whatever). 1 medium onion 1-2 large jars of spaghetti sauce (depends on how much chicken, you need enough to cover the chicken) cinnamon (I don't measure, but it's about a tsp or 2 depending on how much sauce) sugar (see not for cinnamon)
Take a large pot and pour in sauce, bring to a simmer and cook over low heat. Chop the onion and add it to the sauce. Add cinnamon and sugar. Salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for a little bit; then, add the chicken. Cook thawed chicken for an hour, frozen for 2 hours. Stir occasionally, check on your dragons, collect your rent, franchise businesses, etc. You don't want to overcook it, but you can leave it on a bit longer. The longer you cook it, the better the sauce. The chicken should fall apart when it's done. Serve over rice or pasta.
Now here's the most important part. Make sure you tell everyone that it took you hours to make it.

I'll edit it Raven. It's spaghetti sauce. It's one of those things, in my family sauce is always spaghetti sauce unless specified otherwise. I tried for years to duplicate someone's sauce only to find out that it was made with whatever brand was on sale. The trick is what you add and how long you cook it.

That sounds a lot like my mother's "Lazy Woman's Chicken Casserole", Leilani. XD In terms of how long it takes, and being only 3-4 ingredients! Hers is just boneless, skinless chicken breasts over a bed of rice, with a can of cream of mushroom soup poured on top. My father likes to sprinkle those crispy French onion thingies on top of it when he makes it.
I'm not sure how long it takes to cook; I'll ask her and edit this post laters. :9

Raven, that's how most of my recipes look. They're pretty much a list of things that go in and you just have to "know" more like guess how much of what goes into them.
Kitsune, we have a lot of those soup recipes. When my kids were younger and my family was lucky if we all were in the same place for more than an hour, I bought the series of Campbell's Soup cookbooks. Every recipe called for a can of soup and took no more than a half hour or so from prep to table. Plus they were easy to tag team cook, so one of us could start it and the other could finish as my husband and I passed each other in the kitchen like ships in the night.

You must of gotten that cream sause recipe for weight watchers. I am going to post it as she told me. I know you experience cooks will get it. It is all by looks and taste!!

Creamed OnionsWe use 2 packages of the frozen Pearl Onions. Boil them as per the package. Cream SauceTake 1 stick of butter and melt in med sauce pan- low heat. Still on low heat, add in flour slowly- mixing until there are no lumps and looks like a paste. (she doesn’t know how much flour…maybe a couple of Tablespoons). Then add milk- mixing until it is like a pudding and no lumps. (Again, she doesn’t know how much milk. Maybe around ½ cup). Add salt and pepper to taste. When ready, pour the cream sauce over the cooked onions. It looks something like this. But I think my mom’s sauce is a little more heavy. But you can always use Raven's Weight Watchers version above.
