This is the First 2012 Robin Hoods Awards!!
The awards is our way of thanking all the Robin Hoods for all their help and hard work they have put into helping the less fortunate. These players have massive wealth and choose to spend their time reading the forums looking for those have questions, teaching new techniques, strategies, test our updates, helping those that need money, popluarity and coins. These individual give freely of their time to help others. Their are five categories of our Robin Hood Awards 20012:
Best overall Robin Hood
Best Female Robin Hood
Best Male Robin Hood
Best Franchising Robin Hood
Best International Robin Hood
Best Advicing Robin Hood
I am asking everyone to please PM your vote by September 15th. You can vote once in a 24 hour day for each of the categories. On September 16th the top 3 for each category will be announced and voting for the finals will began. Winners will be announced on October 1. When casting your vote make sure u specify which category. Please send your vote by PM. Below is a list a Robin Hoods that are awesome in no particular order:

Ok please don't call me a grinch!!! But because my name was mentioned (many thanks Rezde!) and I have never aspired to robinhooddom !! I want to say - a thank you in the thank you thread has always been enough for me and brought a smile to my face! I've always tried to be welcoming and helpful on the forum and I know of many others who have done this as well! Because I'm retired and have the time you see the old raven flying around the threads!!! Lol - but everyone's time is so precious and all the robinhoods - weather they are known or not are what makes this forum so much fun! I know the message about this award is appreciation and acknowledgement of the work and time - and truly I appreciate my name even being mentioned!!!! I'm just so concerned about hurt feelings and a "popularity" contest attitude! we've seen the effect of the karma system! Please don't hesitate to ignore me! This thread is being moved to the My Town 2 Community Events subjforum as it is more appropriate for this forum-wide event. The General Thread's intent is to consolidate member questions and chat about specific topics. |

It's a nice event for the community. Just like all other events, there is usually a/many winner/s. If someone or many RHs stand out in enough people's minds for the help and kindness they have shown then they deserve to win. Hopefully it does not turn into a Karma war. That would be unfortunate. Let's all try to have fun with this and give the RHs the credit they deserve, even if they didn't ask for recognition, as well as respecting the ones who decided to step off the stage. yay! Well put Littleking, I couldn't agree more. And since you're also a franchiser your name should be here too.
I think already eveyone has been recognised in here and the thank you list plus all the daily gifts HRs, franchisers, micro franchisers get. I do hope no one will feel left out if our brains aren't remembering everyone. I'll be taking special note of mine to make sure.
Some franchisers don't have unlimited bucks either and they pass on what they recrue by being franchised themselves to others. I won't name names but you know who you are so they are already lifting a winning trophy to me.
Can I also just say, yes it takes time and effort to franchise but it's also done because we enjoy the spirit of giving and sharing, it's nice just to do a nice thing and that's a reward in itself.

I think this is a wonderful idea and I plan on voting. I remember my very first franchise and he is not on this board, his name was Val aka Valmora and he made me see what a wonderful game this is especially with help. Cheers to the Robin Hoods!!!! The RH's give the game meaning to a lot of people. I already know who I will vote for because yes some stood out to me in a personal and inviting way.

They say you never forget your first, and I couldn’t agree more. What my first RH doesn’t know, there was actually a glitch. Where there should have only been 1 franchise on the business, I received 20! This happened 3 times. I maybe had 5 bucks in my account and now I had over 3000. I didn’t know what to do first. What was even more truly amazing was that I never asked to be franchised. I joined the forum, introduced myself and this person found me and franchised me. With all the tips, hints and tricks found within the forum, and the help of this RH, I was able to start to give back. Like the saying goes, the more I gave, the more I got back. (and I am not just talking about bucks!). To receive a franchise is a special feeling that someone thought about you and took the time to do it. We should all try to remember that first time and thank the person who made you feel special. There are a lot of special people who make this forum what it is and we should be thanking them all, however for me, my vote goes to Snibull for all she has personally done for me and for my evil twin!! Thanks Snibull!! |
