Voting in this just doesn't seem right to me, but let me explain why. I will do it, because I love that we can do something positive to recognize our amazing Robin Hoods, but I just find it so hard to single any out!
Like Chilli, CAndy was the one that started it off for me, and enabled me to purchase Mt Fuji. Since then, Chilli and Geordie have been regular visitors, giving me the freedom to keep up with new items, and even do some micro-franchising. Konstantin breezes through sprinkling handshakes right across the town from time to time, giving me a huge buzz, and Continuous Bear Hugs has been ever generous when she passes by.
But there are so many that have franchised to the best of their ability, and also have franchised outside this forum to people who don't have the benefit of the great advice that we get here. Thank you to those unknown Robin Hoods - you guys REALLY rock.
Also to those like Jayegirl and Sni that I see willingly talking newbies through their learning, that's as valuable as any franchising you do.
I guess what I am saying here is, there are just so many that I hate having to pick any out! In my book, you all deserve awards. And the best part? None of you do it for this. Now THAT is what makes you all heros. Cyber hugs and thanks to you all.

Well I found it really hard too so I literally spread the wealth and picked someone different for each category and I still could have done with a couple more lol. If we do this again then I'd love a Legends category with 1/2/3rd places for the big guns of the game that started all this. I know Chilli, cAndy, Geordie etc all know how much they are appreciated. Some of the newer players are not aware of how the RHs came about. Another positive thing that has come out of this is the fact we are telling the stories of how all this started. How others have helped us and how some have been able to pass on help through that. There's a great community spirit of giving and helping here and a celebration of that is great. isn't it great when you see a newbie that's been helped and posts that they are going off to help someone else now. Time and again I see newbies excited by getting lots of franchises. Today I opened my town and Konnie even though he knows I don't need it left a handshake on every building lol. I still love that sight and love that he's taken all that time to do that for me. Sugar and spice, all things nice, Ams, Sni... All still pop by to leave franchises for me between doing all their other franchises. I think it's wonderful so many take the time out to do what they do for ppl on here. And we do it because we know that feeling of joy when you open your game and you've been struggling for ages to get that little square of land or a new wonder lol. I'm taking these awards as tongue in cheek. Roney is doing a great job on a mamouth task, so thanks again Roney. And thanks to all that franchise, no matter how big or small, keep that community spirit going  |

Announcing The Legends Award
This part of the competition is purely for Robin Hoods to choose someone from their peers for an award
There has been lots of lovely talk and stories from us about the firsts Robin Hoods that franchised our towns and those that supported us continuously, so Roney is adding this catagory. As with all forums some people move on and are no longer here or maybe continue to work in the background and still here but don't post much. Here or not we would like to honour our Legends. Lots of our newbies are unaware of our Legends that first started the franching phenomenon so here's our chance to show them the top three since the forum began. In some instances that even pre-dates this forum for those of us that came over from other forums.
Robin Hoods, please PM me one vote for your personal Legend by the 28th September

Sorry guys this is getting to much for me! A legend is a legend and doesn't happen with a vote - the original RobinHood became what he was from his actions -- and that is what happened in the forum - I'm not voting on this one - these players are already legends in the forum gaming world and will be remembered by those who care enough to read the "history" books contained in the threads of this forum! Can we also remember the spirit in which Roney started this, regardless of any controversy she did it because she thought it was a nice thing to do.
The time line is to give those that don't log on too regularly a chance to vote and to fit in with Roneys spare time.
Perhaps if this is ever done again we can just have one set of voting.

Very well said indeed! For those of you who do not remember CAndyLand he was the original RH. Without CAndyLand there would probably not have been other RH's. He kept most of us around, because Bucks were pretty rare in the beginning. I know from my own experience I would have stopped playing MT2 last December if it had not been for his generosity and kindness. I do not want to take anything away from the present RH's, you are all doing a fantastic job, some of you are even doing better than your predecessors but I would like for everyone to take a moment and remember our humble beginnings when getting a single handshake meant the world to us and having more than 50 bucks in your posession at one time was a really cool thing to achieve. Good luck to all the RH's! Chilli, You are absolutely right. Even if people do not know who cAndyland is, without him helping the people before us, we would not be here today helping others. I see no reason why we can’t add another category or just forget about voting and name cAndayland the Patriarch RH. There maybe a better word/title someone else may have. By definition patriarch means- a person regarded as the father or founder of an order or class. And to me it seems to fit. Anyone else have any thoughts?? Add a Title / Award: Lifetime Achievement Award ?? If anyone is a Legend, they should be awarded?? (Kon please don't leave...the kids misses you!) And Roney, Jayegirl it has an "E" !!! How to choose? Everyone on this forum adds so much, but I do have to say, with respect to all of the rh's, that sni has done so much for me in this game and on a personal level. I think we all have our own special robin hood, and yet we are all thankful for them all.

BEST INTERNATIONAL ROBIN HOOD!! WOW  That's quite amazing! I would like to add that right from the very beginning, it was cAndyland and chilli that helped build my town and then gave me the inspiration to become a robin hood to help others the way they helped me, you two guys are the real robin hoods of the forum in my eyes. roney, thank you so much for your time, effort, and the hard work you have put into this event for people to recognize the work of all our robin hoods. roney, you deserve an exalt for sure. |
