You might also want to check and make sure your location is set to off on your device. If it is on, it will put you back to your original location or vice versa.
I am in Colorado when my location is set to on, and when I switch it off, I am in Paris.
Check it out and see if it works.

Sorry if this has been answered but I have looked through the site and can't find the answer. I have my location set to New York but it seems that most higher population New York businesses (especially those from members here) require bucks instead of coins to franchise. I have been able to snag a few but I have had to look through a lot of towns to find a few high population businesses that require coins instead of bucks. I don't know what I am doing wrong because everything I have read says that if you're location is within 100 miles of the business it should be coins. Help!

That happened to me too when I switched my location to Paris. Here is what I did. I went and turned my location back on and waited for about an hour. Than, I turned my location back off and waited until my local businesses in business search showed paris locations. Also, when you are searching for friends in your new location, make sure you are looking near your current location and not just your new city. You can also come check out my town. I have some high popularity businesses in my town you may want I have found my best businesses on this forum by posting in the I want to franchise thread.

Ok. I'm impatient so I didn't wait an hour. ;D But it worked!!! Yea! I turned location services back on then waited a few minutes and turned them back off and rebooted the game. So happy now! Thanks a million! I have been so frustrated with that. I can't find anything in your town that doesn't cost bucks. Would I have to switch to Paris to get yours for coins? I have been too afraid to delete the app to change locations again. I'm chicken!

No, you shouldn't have to change locations. You should be able to get New York businesses for coins I believe.

I DID IT!!! ;D And it WORKED!!! Thank you SOOOO much for a) REPEATEDLY and EXHAUSTIVELY explaining how this is done, and b) for continuing to ENCOURAGE us to be brave and try it!!! I now own Facebook...and I'm looking to franchise Google. Anyone that has Google, please post below or let me know -- I want it! Now if Booyah just releases another update with more land, I'll be traveling around the world! What location should I use to get Facebook and google for coins? I have no clue San Francisco for both.

I must be doing something wrong...
The last two times I switched locations, I lost all my gift, franchise money I had received that day.
Is this the cost of doing the switch or am I doing something wrong?

Is this the cost of doing the switch or am I doing something wrong? a few hours before i made the switch i had the handshakes on two of my businesses. A franchise from chilitown I clicked on the handshakes and recieved alot of bucks. Then when i made the switch it went back in time and the handshakes were there again

Thanks everyone. I changed locations to Paris. Franchised some businesses for coins. Am staying in Paris today, on your advice. I notice my towns popularity has already increased.
Think I'll stick with the one time location change for now.
Thanks for all the tips and advice - have dispensed karma - cheers.

Everyone here probably knows this, but I wanted to post something that might help a new forum member. Anyway, thanks to this thread I was able to change my location from my small town in Ohio to new York. After that, I could never bring myself to delete the app to move to another city. I practiced by deleting apps I didn't care about, and never got the popup asking if I wanted to save my data. After much trial and error, I realized that I had never activated my game center. Once I did that, no problem!
Hope this tip helps someone.

Thank you everyone. I have another town on the iphone, so only had the guts to try it out on that one. (Wouldn't have been that upset if I lost the data on that town.)
Follow the sun- I just franchised one of your business. And it worked!! Thanks ;D

Hi guys! I'm worry because when i deleted the game and change my location i only can afford with coins businesses that the popularity didn't even reach 1000 and costs about 8000 coins... This happens to you too or you can buy more popular businesses?

Still not sure why but if it keeps me from losing game data, I'm all for it! And still not "getting" location services either. I seem to be defaulting to someplace this ipad has never been. I can turn location on and it knows where I am now, but when I turn it off, I go back to that place which is near nothing.... not that I am near anything here. So changing location is in my future, and hopefully the stuff in my town makes the move with me. pville 32448941
