Leilani, I agree it's always a challenge to have enough storage space. When I start running out of room, I sell my stuff in the roadside shop-- instead of through the truck orders. It clears out space pretty fast

Going through newspaper as quick as I can, generally helps me find building materials as long my barn is not full to buy them. I do get lucky to get a land deed once or twice.. To be successful, you need to make sure your fast to get them. It does make one curse or mutter a curse to click on item only to see a "sorry someone already bought this." Oh well. Will have to understand everyone grabs what they can as fast as possible

I was reluctant as first with these type of games cuz I had invested a boatload of time in "The Tribez" and my game was completely wiped out for some unknown reason. Still a little jaded, but will give this game a go!

I had an opportunity to buy several Land Deeds this morning and have expanded as much as I plan to for right now. I have also decided I can live with the Silo at 400 capacity, so I'm selling off the double boards and screws. I'm going to increase the barn but have a hard time getting enough bolts.
It was delightful that 3 of you, Zelda, Chazani, and JoRule got some of them today. I deliberately had them for sale without advertising for a bit, hoping you'd find them. Early today, one of my follewers got some.
In future, I will try posting a time here that you can check to see if you want to buy. I'm having my daughter and her husband over for dinner tonight, so it won't be until tomorrow.

Hi Kech,
It was fun to see your farm starting out. Don't hesitate to put some excess up for sale. Your friends will buy from you.
Leilani,
I've been thinking about your having trouble getting going. The game does get more interesting when you build the dock and the boats come in.
I know you don't like to spend much real money. I like to in order to get fast starts, but I'm leveling off now on this game. I think Tom, the errand boy, is the best investment of all. I have him buy the most expensive item I can resell when I don't need him for filling a boat order.
I also spend a diamond to get the new boat faster and to advertise items that didn't sell on the first go round. In the beginning, I sped up manufacturing processes, but do that only rarely now.
I've lost interest in The Big Farm and am seeking ways to minimize my time there while still having it available for friends.
I hope this game picks up for you.

Leilani, I know how you feel, I was taking time to play the game when I started out and didn't care for the slowness, but Judy is right, this game does get better as you progress. My recommendation is grow whatever you can, and what you don't need, sell on the roadside shop, we can always buy them from you I do not waste my gem on advertisement, I can wait 25ish minutes between advertisements. Mind you I don't always have much to sell lol. Most of my 400slot barn is taken up by almost all shovels, markers, mallets, and planks/panels that is enough to upgrade but missing a 3rd building material to expand. I sent the kid a couple times to get me some saws and axes when I realize I need them to clear up the dead trees and bushes.. Has anyone seen what liking their farm does for that person? I have no clue myself ..

Chazani, I think that liking a farm only makes the owner feel good. I try to like farms that are new, often being the first to do so. I remember when I received my first like. I didn't even know they existed.

Oh Judy. Thank you . Lol. I couldn't resist buying those. I should refrain myself but those did help me expand the silo for sure. Thought I had enough boards but turned out I needed them. I shall put some markers and mallets out for those needing them. I always need land deeds more than the other 2.. Btw I put markers and mallets at the end of my shop.

Thank you. I did notice you guys bought up some of the stuff at my stand. IMO they could make building materials a little easier to come by or lower the requirements to upgrade the barn and silo. Oh well, I'm still plugging away.

since we all are playing on an iDevice, why don't we just make a group message, and text when we stock our shops with building materials, need boat help, or revive trees and bushes, or if we need that 1 item that will help us upgrade our barn or silo.

Awesome idea Judy, but we might want to make it that we send each other emails privately in a message... Unless there's a cool gamecenter messenger sort..

iMessage!!! since we all are playing on an iDevice, why don't we just make a group message, and text when we stock our shops with building materials, need boat help, or revive trees and bushes, or if we need that 1 item that will help us upgrade our barn or silo. iMessage uses the same email address that is set for iTunes If your interested then please post your iMessage address. I can't get iMessage set up. It says my email address is already in use. I have the same problem with FaceTime on my iPad. I do have another Apple ID which I will try to resurrect.

I've never used iMessage before but will try to setup tomorrow. My lands expanded so I sell all my mallets, land deeds, and marker stakes. I do the same as Judy mentioned, where I do not advertise them or put ads up when I put the good stuff out. But I know some of my followers are quick to get them. One thing is kinda weird is that often my goods get snatched up before I finish putting them out. It's like a follower is staring at my shop...waiting. Lol. Not that I mind I'm putting it out there to get sold its just the timing is strange. One feature of the game I wish they would bring back was apparently you used to be able to see which follower helped load your cargo ship. Just like how I can tell if one of you guys helped me. It would be great so I can try to help in return. I try to help my followers with cargo ships as much as I can but with the amount it's not possible to always help all. My boyfriend got an ipad so I told him download hay day. He did and said it looked stupid. It's been two weeks and now he's addicted just as bad as me!
