I don't know bc I never paid too much attention to pop, but I don't think the getaways is synced. I think you buy it at market, that's it-if you want to increase the pop...you're on your own with checkins. Anyone with businesses in the getaways experienced a drop/change on those businesses?

That's v clever, Sni! Still, if they aren't synced that would mean one person would need to do an awful lot of tapping to get it high enough to be an attractive buy.

You're right Derek - what's the harm in taking your high coin earners that have been known to drop and putting them in the getaways - as long as you still have a few high pop businesses available for franchising in your main town. I don't know if the syncing thing is true, just odd mine hasn't dropped since putting it at the beach and it has for those with it in the main town.

I've noticed that a lot of the medium popular businesses are dropping and that they are different pops in different countries say in the us hard rock might be 7,000+ but in Europe it could only be 4,000+ hmmmmm

Sni- I think you are on to something!!

My iPhone- RHOS has been in my gataways since we upgraded. Pop is at 2,908

My iPad- pop is at 1645 and it is in my main town.

Now your business -Snibull Tapas Bar is in the gataways for both my towns (since the update) and it is the same at 115.

It is certainly something worth experimenting with anyway. If they aren't synced that means they should only go up, never down. Maybe after Xmas....

Yes, but only the town mayor can impact the pop. I guess that's the downside (to your other post)... How much can one person do and it won't even stay up when they put it in their main town to be franchised.

I just tried franchising 2 of my mum's businesses when I was in the beach getaway. She's sitting next to me and she didn't get the handshakes. But when I moved back to my main town and franchised a business she got the handshake right away.

If that's the case then I've wasted time doing franchises that nobody got.

Due to my sad experience I can say that whatever in the getaways( beach or lake) stays there. My main town was wiped out, I had to start from scratch; when I reached level 8 I was asked if I wanted to go to the getaways. Went there and surprise surprise: my Getaways where intact, just how they were before my major town was gone. I had "Who says Elephansts Can't Dance" and "Lucky Strike Lanes" at the lake getaway, I found them just the way I left them. Same happened with the houses and wonders.
So, I'm using the Getaways for storage, just in case.

Hmmm ... So it appears the businesses in the getaways eventually update. Just checked and WSECD is down to 671 pop.
