Well done Geordie for getting a win for this side of the pond in the Best town comp... does this mean you will have to franchise yourself Can't wait to see what you have coming up for us with the comps... will it be after or during the weekend? I'm going away to London but it's on a coach so plenty of time to keep cheeking my iPhone! lol.

Hey, something I think we're all dealing with is low pop businesses. As was pointed out on the new York new York thread, franchising a business increases popularity by 20 points. The same is also true when you buy it from the game. So if there's a business in your hometown or close to it that you want to big up because people should know how popular it is, just buy it, sell it and buy it back again. I was looking at Loch Ness in Inverness, and the price in the store has gone from 800 coins to 8000 (thats a popularity of about 800) just from my buying and deleting it -- with coins! Once I get some level 10 businesses, I'll, probably try it with some of the less popular Edinburgh businesses, but you should totally give it a go in your area.
Which businesses would you like to see succeed?

The Olympic torch went through my town of St Helens today, has it been to or on it's way to anyone else? Here in Godalming on 20th July. One week later the Cycling road race passes by close to town so we plan on going to watch that to say we have seen some live Olympic action.

Sounds crazy! If the weather had been obliging it would have been great. So I supposed I'm not the only one getting wet lol. However, more importantly did your daughter enjoyed the experienced? @ Jaynegirl, the Omplypic Touch is passing our way on the 24th so I'll propably try to go and see it, weather permitting of course!

The olympic torch will be up to our neck of the woods next week. If it's convenient I might pop along and see it, I don't suppose I'll get another chance during my lifetime to see it so I probably should make the effort.
I seem to be more concerned with whether Booyah are going to release olympic items or not ;D [It's probably too much to hope for jubilee items tomorrow]

Lol. Totally agrees with you. Some Olympics and Jubilee stuff would be ace. After reading your post I'll probably goes and see the Tourch, like you said who knows?
@ marchfall, lovely name by the way and the way you put it together is so simple. I've read the how's your town named thread. Enjoyed your party. It's a very good time to let your hair down without consequences cuz pretty much the whole nation knows about it!! Even the Queen! ;D

Spent a great deal of our London weekend in traffic on a coach!!! Thankfully though we still had some great laughs, great food and a fantastic night at the theatre. We all opted for a day in Oxford sunday instead if London to miss the traffic and crowds. Was nice to be in London with all the party atmosphere going on looming good for the Olympics.
