Golden Friends help
You can buy 50 for 15 Gold, or you can make a pack in the Workshop, but then you have to click on it in your Warehouse Other to activate it. I mostly use it on Nicolas's farm when I need to feed goats or sheep which I rarely find available at other farms.
Sluggish behavior
I was having a lot of trouble with this until I started closing and reopening the game. It gets that way on my iPad when I have done a lot of going to Random Neighbors.

407Mom, how did you gift me so many of the collection items I needed? I was able to get lots of feed thanks to you.

I got a lot of gifts today too. Mom, did you use the "thank you" button? I click on it when I get it, I just don't know what it does.
Judy, my game gets sluggish too. I always close it when I'm not playing because it is a bit of a battery leech if I leave it open. I think it's because of the capability of the iPhone. What I find frustrating is that when I go into my friends list to gift, all the names and icons match until I send a gift; then, the remaining names don't match the icons so I'm not sure exactly who I'm gifting. For now everyone is getting the same gift. If there is something specific you guys want just let me know & I'll try to gift it to you.

Level 39
Lots of Wedding tasks, requiring gifts. I'm up to 22 friends, so the gifts came in quickly. It is also possible to earn them by doing work on the farm or at neighbors.
Aliens
There was a series of tasks requiring food. Supposedly humanitarian aid which seem odd, since the aliens did not look human.
Dog
Continues to annoy.

The Wedding
I don't know if it has taken place, but a babe is hanging around my male farmer. At first, she was just there. Now, she takes a turn at doing work.
I suspect there is more to it, but right now, I have only a few tasks and some of them require Nicolas who is nowhere in sight. I did find a neighbor who had planted several plots of bananas that were about to mature. I harvested them all and completed a task without Nicolas.

Kind to Neighbors
I'm realizing I need crops for them to harvest and/or animals to feed when they come to visit. Crops and animals yield the most feed. Rocks and trees are OK but don't build up the feed total very fast.

Well I started playing this game. It's interesting.. But wow, if I don't harvest the crops, they go bad?? Cityville is like that too.. So I may not want to leave crops out since I cannot always be on the game every waking moment As usual I end up having to do what the pandarens say on world of warcraft "Slooowww Doowwwwnnn". Lol I run out of energy fast lol

Sharazani, your friends can harvest your crops and perform other tasks when they visit. If you want to add me my GC ID is Leilani*12. If you have a preference of what you would like tended to on your farm just let me know. Judy, do you remember if you got a bunch of gifts from me yesterday? When I went in it showed you had requested a bunch, so I was going down the list sending them. The game crashed as I was sending the last one and when I went back in the list was gone. I'm hoping you at least got all the ones I sent before the last one or better yet all including the last one. I think I may have expanded too fast. I probably should have waited and not bought the expansions as soon as I was able to because I'm nowhere near getting the material to be able to complete my blast furnace. I've been trying to leave plots of various crops for folks to harvest when they visit. It seems that those are the harder friend goals to complete simply because Nicholas is the only one who consistently has crops. Although Judy, I noticed that you had quite the variety planted.

I've found info on getting items to complete collections: Click 'Collections' Scroll left or right to find the collection Click the magnifying glass under the item you want. Sometimes there is a megaphone icon there also. Click it to post a message to your wall saying you want that item. It appears to do nothing so only click it once. You can have five items in your 'wish list'. Friends who have these items can send you them. You can see someone's wishlist by hovering your pointer over their name at the bottom of the screen. You can't send them items which are grayed out. If you hover over the non-grayed icons you'll see how many of these you have. Clicking the icon sends the friend the item. You can also request gifts by sending out gifts. The person receiving the gift will see two buttons on their gift window - 'Accept' and 'Thank'. Provided they click the 'Thank' button first, a copy of the item will be sent back to you. You can send each friend 1 gift per day using 'Gifts'. You can send many collection items via the person's wish list... but there is a limit. Once a friend has reached their gift limit, you won't be able to send more until the next day. Paints, glass, motors, bolts and energy can be added to the wish list but each person can only send one of these per day. This came from www.jaydax.co.uk/TBFT/How_do_I.htm#energy Some of the info at this site applies only to the Facebook version of the game, but lots of it applies to us, too.

Leilani, I have over 20 friends now, so I'm getting all the gifts I request and more. Not to worry.
Now that I see what the Thank button does, I'll try to use it.

Level 40
I'm preparing to build or repair the house. Yesterday, my 18 year old granddaughter and I started watching Poirot from Netflix via my new Roku box. My daughter came and worked on some gifts she is giving. After they left, I continued watching until about midnight. I walked only 300 or so steps all day! But, it was fun. I got to the point of almost being bored with this game for the first time!

New House
This was easy to complete. I had lots of wood stored and it was 1 wood + 1 energy up to the last step which was cheaper than usual.
Ultrasonic
This was more expensive. 1 wood + 1 energy times 25. The last step will cost 144 gold unless I gather enough motors and wool and create enough cobwebs. I think I will create the cobwebs and buy whatever else I need.
Once Ultrasonic is done, I will have all the buildings except a couple of the large capacity animal shelters. I still have studies to complete, but feel I'm in the end game process unless there are more areas to explore that haven't been disclosed yet.

I hope there's more for you Judy. Maybe they'll be an update soon. You're so far advanced I'll never catch up to you, but it's nice visiting your farm and coming on here to see your updates.

Not to worry, Leilani. I have several more studies to complete even the first level. Once that's done, I can improve other studies.
Lately, I've had trouble having enough wool. Lots of the current activities require it. Feeding 10 sheep yields only 1 or 2 portions of wool, so I end up buying most of it.
The Dog
According to the fellow who wrote about the Facebook version of the game, the dog helps deal with monsters by allowing lower level weapons to defeat them. He said this works only when the dog has been fed meat. Last night, I had enough meat and so fed the dog. If I feed the cat, no long a problem as I keep getting sour cream from the Food collection, and ignore the dog, he is soon running around again, not hungry until the cat is the next day. After I fed him, I got an Alien. I defeated him with a slingshot, then a bee shot. Next time, I will try the bee shot first.
I'm not sure the benefit is worth it in any event. I have no problem making enough weapons to keep ahead of the monsters even though I have chopped down many trees and rocks along the way.

Multiple Collection gifts
I still don't know how this is accomplished. I don't know how to give even one that is not requested or in the standard gift list. 407Mom has often sent me valuable collection items. One of my friends who accepted my random invitation has sent me 5 or more of these items, allowing me to get more energy right away.
Neighbor help
Not everyone understood my "Don't Feed" sign, so I have been experimenting. Once you allow someone to "help", you can't stop them. What they are going to do shows up only after you OK the help. But, it is possible to do tasks before answering the question.

Judy, when did you put up the no feed sign? I don't remember if I've fed any of your animals, but if I did I'm sorry. I didn't see the sign.
I'm not sure how people are giving some of the gifts that they are giving either. Maybe 407Mom will pop in & tell us her secret.
How do you use the golden friend action? I have some in my warehouse, but I don't know how to use it. I can't access the warehouse while visiting friends and when I try to do a golden action at a friends I get the window to buy them.

Hi Leilani,
When the sign was up, it was with the sheep and pigs in Expansion #2. I don't think you got there.
When you have Golden actions for friends in your warehouse, you can see the total there and also at a friend's farm, the total is with the gold energy sign above the pink free energy symbols. If you go over the amount of pink energy actions you have, and you have golden ones, the game uses your stash. It's not obvious. I use them mostly at Nicolas's farm when I want to speed through some task that only his resources lets me fulfill. If I make a mistake at a random neighbor's and realize it, I can click the Stop button in the upper left to keep from further use of the golden actions.
I vaguely remember having to click on something to get the golden actions activated, but I'm not recalling the circumstances. Usually I buy more when I run out at Nicolas's farm, and they are automatically activated.

Thanks Judy. I was getting a bit aggravated that I couldn't figure it out, but I may have used a couple without even realizing it.

Leilani, you may not think you are very far along, but among my 39 friends, you rank 8th! I've noticed that not everyone is in a rush to expand. Here is the data from the 7 above you:
Level Expansions
42.......4 37.......4 but Teleport not complete 32.......2 30.......2 29.......2 27.......1 27.......2
I'd say you are progressing very well. By the way, there is a new dragon out today. Check the DV thread.
