nyteowl: Your reaction is funny! I hesitated to write "telephone book" and I figured you'd end up using your cell or computer anyway. LOL!  I wonder how they do come up with the ones that they make available to us. : The default font size for quotations are too tiny, IMO. I've manually upped the size for easier reading.  licat: I remember when phone books and Thomas Guides were all I needed to get around. A navigator in the passenger seat was always nice to have. aw5678: I can't imagine an employee at Booyah manually entering each business, so they must be working off a database. Unfortunately, the database lacks some pretty cool businesses. On the other hand, it includes businesses that no longer exist. Then again, I'd much rather have Arrowhead Pond (former name) than Honda Center (current name). Sounds so much better to say, "The Mighty Ducks at the Arrowhead Pond!" It would be nice if they added some historic places like the Pantages Theatre and the Chinese Theatre. |

Booyah!! Are you kidding me?!! At least give us a bit more land. I have lots of limos (probably a bit too much) - where do they all come from? 442 for Mt Fuji is just mad! Not many people (including me) can afford that. It would cost $50 in real money to get it. There are some nice new buildings to get but I just don't have any more room. The new boost feature is interesting. I wonder how we can get extra bolts and how often these would come. With these, I might not need Mt Fuji after all. Oh, the other thing is that the business bar now says "MAX" at the top. |

I've already posted in Mac Rumors and in the Updates section of this forum about this and made my position clear. This update is not only bulls$&t but it borders on insulting, and now they want us to buy an overpriced wonder with the temptation of this "must have" new feature that we get to try out 2 days for free.
No way, they can go f$&k themselves. No new land, no new levels, no fixing of clunky friends list or buck upgrade on buildings. Yes, they added 10 more things to buy and replaced random girl with a snazzy checklist icon. It is simply not even close to enough given the time we waited.
Maybe I will cool down later, but from now on I check my town 2 times a day and will not dedicate my time to the boards for a broken game by a corporation that doesn't care about us. Mostly I will check in to continue gifting others. Maybe they will get their act together and make some real improvements and then my feelings will change.
But this...this is really a travesty...really Booyah, how dare you, why do you hate us?
P.S. Be careful with the auto-collect boost. It also scoops up your gifts. It is unclear if the gifts get added to your total and opened. I sure didn't see it happen. Either way, the game won't tell you who gifted you.

I don't think the BIG update is here yet. They obviously still need to up the levels and give us more land. I think rather than wait for that, they just wanted to roll out something first.

Licat, here's an interesting wrinkle. I can't accumulate past five check-ins. If I get a bunch of additional ones when I collect from my businesses, it shows the correct number. However, if I don't use any of them, after the next round of jobs is complete, I haven't received any more. I've never understood it, nor have I ever been able to change it. So I just use what I've got every time I collect.

I have read this forum everyday, thanks everyone for all the great tips!! I was so excited when I saw we could finally get Mt Fuji. Then, so disappointed it cost so much. I can never save that many green bucks. It took me days to save 24 for the dog park. I wish it were attainable for us newer players.  Thanks again for the wonderful tips! Come visit my little town! Sooo glad I'm not the only one disappointed by the 'update'. I was so excited when I saw it! And then... When I I opened the game I wondered if it had installed correctly as there was no new land; i was concerned for the sake of my iPad. But alas.... No. WTH. Perhaps those of you who mentioned that this may be a smaller 'update' to just get something out there are correct. And we may be getting a real update soon. You know, one with levels, land and a selection a goodies. Because as far as this is concerned it is a "mini-date" at best. I like a few of the houses but don't toy with us, Booyah. It's more in line with what they release for holidays and such. So before I lose my S, I'm going to pretend that they released this for Presidents Day.  and it's not 'The Update'. |

I do think that this is the big February update. The problem for us players is that Booyah gives no indications of what's going to be in an upcoming update. It's great for them, because they can change their plans at any time and not be held accountable by anyone. Hey, can I work there? While I would like for them to enhance their social aspects of the game, this release was clearly targeted for the players primarily playing to customize their own towns. I mean, that's the point of the game, right? To build your town, your way. With that said, I totally agree that Mt. Fuji is overpriced at 442 bucks. With the franchise bonus capped at 50 bucks, you'd have to get franchised a minimum of 9 times to accumulate enough bucks to buy it. Or, you have to shell out $50 (US) of real money for it. I don't mind paying some money to support developers on games I like to play (which I have for My Town 2), but this is just too much. Another gripe I have is that the "Goals" and "Boosts" icons take up too much space on the display. I'd like a way to hide them. On the positive side, I like the Victorian Mansion and the Tudor House (anyone check to see if either has seven gables?). I also like the Vineyard and Greenhouse. I'll have to spend some time reorganizing my town, but I'll add those items in eventually. |

well, I bought Mt. Fuji even though I think it's a rip off (it better not drop drastically in price)  I saved & saved & have been coveting it for awhile... I have actually climbed Mt Fuji IRL about 12 yrs ago. also, with as big as my town is, one shake is VERY helpful & speeds up things considerably. we can only hope this isn't the big Feb update. |

Damit. Sorry, I had to say it. Two days ago I saved someones town because I wanted to franchise e apple store in San Francisco, but needed population, the price was over 100,000 but I was cool Witt at. I have population today, and the app,e store is now only bucks, damnit! Haha
I'm desperately trying to get to $200 bucks to buy the Eiffel tower, I hear some people talk about making more bucks, can someone help me understand this? Franchising and gifting? I'd really like to get the Eiffel tower, my obsession with Paris makes me want this(I even bought the Paris resort and casino in Vegas)!
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated! I love all the info I've received from this board, you are all awesome!
