I have a Macy's off the charts!! Has not dropped at all. Don't ask how much it is. I can't see the amount of bucks- it is off the board. LOL I have that same Macy's, I think, Ams, and it seems to stay where it is even better than some of my 'normal' businesses. I will never never stand the popularity thing, so I gave up trying months ago!

Ok now this is weird! On my quest to own every Starbucks I could I somehow picked up 2 Starbucks with the same address (I think pikes place WA) but they have different popularity. I was shock that I could buy more than one.
1912 Pike Place Seattle WA. -4978 1912 Pike Place Seattle WA - 3196

This is a forum where we post thing that we or some one else discovered. Let me start this off
•I think I figured out how the pop monster strikes. So I went on the app Game Center to change my name and then went back to mytown2 to see that all my bussiness that were located in mytown, CA lost all but 25 of there pop. I won't recommend any1 low in cash or coins to try this. (This is a somewhat theory only tested this twice)

Maybe that's a possible cause for some but not everybody that gets hit by the mytown,ca species of the popularity monster has a game center profile. I don't and I got hit twice. Had 2 mytown,ca businesses knocked down to 25. One went from 33000 and the other went from 70000.

It almost feels like there is a trigger point that a business hits that reverts the popularity.
I've seen some drop but two months ago my popularity skyrocketed and was at all time high so I've been expecting it to drop. And although I've seen a dip - I haven't seen any dramatic decreases to really low digits (not since I got rid of the mytown,ca businesses). Not that it matters so much to me any more but even though my pop on some businesses (not all) has dropped I've still being getting franchises so the amount I'm getting on my jobs has gone up not down.
The quick drop doesn't surprise me. It has been up and down like a yo-yo a few times since I got it a few months ago. Think I got it in the 60 000s. It went down then skyrocketed to to 110 000 now back down.
Some businesses that were above the 3000 have dropped below that mark so they are no longer max buck eligible. In visiting other towns I have also noticed a drop in booyatopia businesses since the 1 buck method disappeared. A few of them have dropped below the 3000 mark (ie club space). Think this has more to do with this method no longer being available and some of the players that got the businesses this way have left the game so a few of the franchise sources have dried up. Plus more players getting the internet doesn't help. It is a check-in deterrent.

The pop monster just hit 8 of my businesses, they all went from 20,000+ to 27. Now that I was getting the coins to clear land; very bad timing 😢😢😢 I hate that monster so much.

How I played my town 2 getaways was I turned all my business into an office and then the beach and forest getaways I built stock exchanges on both the beach and forest and now every hour I get about 1 million and every four hours I get about 1.8 million coins so it really is a good strategy.

Hi! I've been playing My Town 2 for roughly 2 months and I've been addicted to it. However, when I was able to save up several millions in coins and went ahead to franchise Starbucks (Booyah St. MyTown CA), at first it was giving me high income but after an hour or so the popularity which used to be 30k plus, went down drastically to 25! At first I thought it was just a glitch so I just sold it and franchised several highly popular businesses all located in MyTown, CA.
The 4 of them worked fine at first, then after several hours, all of their popularity went down to 25 again, thus giving me very low income! Is there something that I'm doing wrong? I've checked the city that I franchised it from, and the popularity in theirs were still very high! Why is it that the popularity of those I franchised w/ that address ALL went down to 25 while those businesses w/ different address (ex. Ristorante [Berlin], Mixer Bar [Paris]) are doing just fine? Please help me figure it out! Many thanks!! Booyah ID 49638792

You aren't doing anything wrong. We don't know how or why this happens exactly but it has happened to quite a few of us with the mytown,ca businesses. These businesses were originally part of booyah sample towns and they have been made artificially high - at some point someone has manipulated the popularity. I now avoid any business with a mytown,ca address and stick to the other businesses with real addresses.

Sorry in advance that my question is a little off topic in this thread, but I noticed in your reply that you still did the stock exchange trick to get more coins. Are the rates still compounded or just stacked? How many SEs do you have to get that much of coins?

Basketballlerover23 has only posted once so I have no idea how often they check to see your question. But no they are not compounded/stacked. They add. You get % for each office business you have then they add for every stock exchange you have. The more you get - The better your income will be. If making a lot of coins in a short period of time is your goal then you should get as many as you can fit in your main town and if possible your getaways as well. Some players have over 200.

This just happened to me and it completely ruined 6 businesses that took me 2 days to save up for. All of them dropped to 28 pop..for this to happen to someone who has only been playing the game a couple weeks that doesnt have millions of coin to recover those business, it might take me weeks to get back.
