Kech, I'm struggling to get the frankenbot too. So far the arena has been good to me, but I didn't get it until right before bed last night so I've only battled twice. I thought I'd try something different and threw my nature and a mining bot into the little robot breeding station and now have a caterpillar coming. Unfortunately, that means it's tied up for 24 hours. I should have checked the sandbox before doing that. I'm hoping at some point we can have another breeding area.
Judy, I was looking at the sandbox and it says that you can't breed 2 of the same kind together. Other than to have them in a zone to earn coins, have you discovered any benefit to keeping 2 of any of them especially the base robots?

Kech, I just got 2 Franken bots while trying for Astro with Carrier + Harvester. Breed time is 24 hours. Judy
Edit: This is not a good combo for Astro, as the fails take a long time and don't yield much when sold. Check the Sandbox. Spray + Welder has 4 fails, all of which yield 50 K when sold.

Thx for the combo Judy and grats on ur Frankies! I was able to finally get one with builder/performer last night. Yay!! The grinder was giving me fits in the arena but I found a combo that is virtually unbeatable. I used beat on the bottom and rock on top...the grinder and his buddy were destroyed within 7-10 attacks. I used this combo 3 times already in the arena versus the grinder and came out barely scathed every single time. I love visiting ur "park" Judy, it's like a snapshot of the future. I get to see what u've gotten so far..a preview of what I need. It gets me excited every single time.  Leilani, thx for the caterpillar combo...been working feverishly on Frankie, I haven't gotten many other bots yet. Will try ur combo next! I was wondering about the benefits of having 2 of the same bots as well. In DV, the benefits were to have 2 sets breeding at once and to collect those eggs but in Gizmo, I don't see any benefits. We're still new at this game, hopefully we'll get more info once the fog starts to clear. Good luck with Frankie I'm willing to bet there will be some sort of Hibernation Cave equivalent in later levels or a future update. This game is too much like DV not to have one. Another breeding lab should also be available later down the road. I hope they give us a way to win crystals like the colosseum. I'm reminded of the early stages of DV while playing this game...the anticipation and excitement is back! Loving the music and the robotic sound effects. Wish more Dragonvalers would take the plunge...I need more crystals! ;D |

 Kech!!! You've got to try harder than that!!!! And please tell me they don't call it a breeding lab!!!!!! They are robots! Reproduction Lab at the very least!!!!! Lol. The only thing holding me back is the comments that it is just like DV !!! And robots just aren't as "neat" ! as DRAGOnS!!! And I'm a sifi addict!!!! Sheesh! I'm almost talking myself into it!!!! ;D Can't help a DV comment cuz I've only ever bread one dragon - the only pairs I did was magnetic/lichen/rust and Panlong - I don't think it has affected the game and I have always had room in the habitats! Lol - now some mod will probably come along and move this to the appropriate thread!!!!  |

Thanks for the crystal Snibull! U work quick! ;D Nuts are treats in this game. Go figure  Raven, it took me ages to convert u guys to DV from MT Animals. I won't lead u down the wrong path...trust me! The sooner u start, the sooner u can get the Frankenbot...a limited robot for Halloween. Would hate to have u miss it because u started the game late It's ok to talk about DV in this thread as long as it's related to Gizmo  |

Welcome Raven and Sni and thanks for the Crystals. Have something breeding or snax growing so we can speed one up when we visit.
Levels 14 and 15 are grinds. First, no new bots. Second, costs going up. At level 15, a battle costs 70 k and expansions are 350 k. Adding cash by breeding Builder and Repair at 50 k for an average of 3 Crystals to speed up was a great boon at lower levels but have to be done more frequently now. On the other hand, winning battles results in plenty of snax and is the fastest way to get XP to level up.
Leilani, I didn't know you can't breed one bot with the same one. Thanks for pointing this out. No, I can't see a reason to have more than 1 at this point, except that you may want to keep your zones quite full to earn faster.
Battle success--Follow what Kech said until you have a Grinder. Level him up so he sorts to the top and use him as your front man every time. He gets the game bots out in 3 rounds, sometimes 2. Not only are his blows powerful, but he seems impervious to attacks which just glance off of him. I guess I should say "it", but "him" feels better to me.
I have been systematically adding to the earning power of each bot as I work on leveling up in the Arena. I put Grinder in the rink and then scroll until I see a bot with less than the top medal. With Grinder in front, it doesn't matter what is in back. This may change at level 16 when the Science bots come in.
I have had no success in getting the rare Astro bot. I've burned many Crystals trying. The fails can be long in time and cheap in resale. Not sure what the advantage will be in having Astro, but of course, I have to try.

Edit: I feel like such a dummy! After I checked the Sandbox, I abandoned Carrier + Harvester with its long, valueless fails, for Spray + Welder with fails of 1, 2, 6 or 7 hours each yielding 50 K which I need to fight battles.

Level 16 and Science Bots
I had saved a Zone which proved to be wise, as I need 2 Science Zones. Thanks to spending cash on Crystals, abundant snax from arena victories, and cash earned from the relatively few fails, and the Sandbox, I zipped through getting 7 Science bots plus the one I had to buy to get started. Selling the fails gets 250 K. My new cash cow will be Builder + Science.
The surprise is the X-ray bot which is in incubation, but requires a zone that is not available until level 17. However, I am over half way there, so it's all good. Edit: I was wrong. Just needed a slot in Science or Repair. I found a bot to sell, and X-ray is now at home.
Kech, you're going to love the quirky noises the science bots make!

Wow Judy, you're little bot island is incredible. I'm slowly inching my through level 10, so your island is a wonderful sneak peek of what's to come. Although, it is also making tempting to buy crystals.
Come on Raven, give it a whirl. You know you want to become addicted to the bots too.

Gizmos,
Once you have Grinder to fight your battles, don't worry about buying gizmos. You will get them as rewards for winning from time to time. I'm slogging my way through level 17, adding to the earning power of my science bots as I go.
Edit: The exception is buying a Disc for Grinder. That is what makes him invincible.

Bot levels,
The game will not exceed the highest level of your bots in selecting your opponents. Grinder can defeat higher level bots. I have my Grinder at the highest level so he sorts first in my fighter list, making selection easy.

Thx for all the info Judy, ur in a league of ur own ;D. Hopefully it'll make more sense once we get to ur level. Got some questions for u: How big do the bots get? I leveled up my rock/beat to level 9...they're the biggest bots I have right now but they're still kinda small compared to dragons  . Are levels 5 and 9 the only transformation levels? What did u use for grinder? I used a couple of suggested combos from the sandbox but still can't get one. Combo for caterpillar? I was trying for one but got another freakin mole! Lol uh oh, the whining from DV has carried over to Gizmo . Have u won any crystals from the arena? Raven, thx for the crystal. I'll hold off sending u crystals until ur ready to fully commit to this game . Those people at the other forum are hardcore Dragonvalers. It's no surprise they're going wild over a similar game like Gizmo. I wonder if BFS will follow the same release pattern as DV, it's Thursday...maybe a new robot out in the market today  If not, we still have a new gem dragon in DV to look forward to. Yay!! |
