New dragons are now live! Forge (fire + metal) and Pearl

I have a 48 hour on my EBI and an Emerald in the cave so I can't start breeding yet.

Yes! I follow those wiki charts for everything i do, and I've been using the breed calculator to DEATH. I've just been breeding and making money as much as possible to get to level 14 which I just hit - so I bought the water egg and habitat. My plan is to start breeding fire+water=air to start bring in some serious cash. I haven't even decorated or anything...

ALSO!... now, I'm a newbie so maybe I shouldn't be excited about this but I just bred storm+earth in the epic breeding island and got my first 48 hr egg!! So I'm thinking that means I've got either a sun, moon or, god forbid, a rainbow cooking, right? FINALLY! ;D

I'm lovin visiting y'alls parks/islands... VERY impressive! Every one I visit gives me ideas... which I definitely need...

Also: please feel free to tell me if anything I'm doing is totally whacked, or if there's something else you'd recommend... I've been mostly following the beginner tips on their forum.

Congratulations Mehurin on your 48 hour dragon. You'll know which once the egg is in the nest.

I thought I was going to try to hatch a Pearl, but I don't know where to start. I did manage to hatch a Butterfly dragon with a Firefly and a Chrome on the 2nd try.

I got the new Forge Dragon on my 3rd try breeding a pure Fire and a pure Metal. You can see it in the Fire habitat closest to my 2 Lightning habitats.

People are trying to get Pearl, and one guy on the wkik said it was Mud & Forge. I tried 8 times before checking back to find out it was a lie. Enough for now.

Super disappointed I cannot get this to work yet but I o like their help desk service. Three emails in reply. Not that they have helped, sadly.

The game is hosted on google servers and China and google have, you know, a delicate relationship. Next time I download it I will do it from school through a double layer of VPN, see if that works.

Annoying because with my VPN I can access Facebook and YouTube, both banned here, and I cannot see anyone's objection to a dragon game, least of all the Chinese ;D

Will keep trying. It sounds fun and I love dragons.

It's been confirmed Pearl is Snow + Seaweed. Glad that the dreaded Crystal is out of the equation.

Mehurin - congrats on your 48 hour! If you bred it between 7am to 7pm it will be a Sun otherwise it's a Moon. If four elements were involved it has a chance of being a Rainbow.

Ok, I am at school ostensibly supervising a musical rehearsal. Got Dragonvale downloaded. Yay.

Been in, spent some real money to get started. No idea what I am doing. Had the kids giving me advice in their break, bless them.

I have tried to get to a place where I could add you as friends so I could gift to people I know but, dang it, I can't figure it out. Please would you help,out a woolly wally and add me??

Thanks Oceanside. I gave it 30 tries and came up with 7 of the 8 common results according to the breeding calculator dvcalc.pf-control.de/

Swamp 3
Fog 4
Seaweed 3
Ice 3
Lichen 4
Snow 3

I did not get a willow. I sold all the above and plan to wait for another day. It will be fun to see who gets a Pearl first among us. We have all of June to try.

Thanks! Ok, if I understand this correctly, it's a moon due to time of breeding - that's easy enough. But the element thing... it can't be a rainbow because storm+earth means only three elements were involved (earth, lightning, cold)?... Is that right, or am I just totally confused?

Choco - glad you found your way thru the great wall! If dv grabs you the way it did me after just a couple days then beware! Lol

You got it!
You should play around with the breeding calc to get an idea of what pairs you need for Rainbow. I wouldn't concentrate too much on it at this point. Chances are you'll randomly breed it while collecting the hybrids

Thanks everyone. I have 3 or maybe (when accepted) 5 friends from here in there now. Been clearing land. No idea if that's the plan Stan, but I need to find a way to make some money so off to read some threads.

Edit: ok I've been reading for ages. If anyone has a quick hint for making money please could you let me know. I'm a bit stuck right now. I have my Cold in the Colusseum, an egg hatching in the nursery, a breeding couple *ahem* you know, and no room in my nursery, I have food on the boil and an island being magicked up... Not sure what else I can do right now so off to bed.

For some odd reason I woke up at 4:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. So I went to Starbucks at 5:15 and got a mocha (only in Seattle would there be a line that early!) I got home and figured I'd settle in and play some MT. I checked on my towns, had some good luck with STW and checked on MTAnimals. But it was only 6am so I thought, what the hell, I'll download Dragonvale.

It is so cute! I've been playing for an hour and am up to level 7. But now I'm out of coins and gems.

Thanks for all the good advice. I'm going to go read the wiki now while I wait for jobs to finish!

Welcome guys! Our DV family is getting bigger. Be afraid Booyah, be very afraid lol

I already added most of u. Please keep in mind my DV friend list is over 20 people long so it'll take some time to return gems. U are not being ignored. I do try to give towners a priority on the waiting list but it does take at least 2 days to get to most of u.

There's a DV breeding app that is very useful especially for newbies. I find myself still using it to look up certain color eggs and other info. I suggest u download it from the app store.

You really don't need 50 each. Chances are you already have a bunch of hybrids so that should be at least 15-30 dragons of each type. Panlongs are the best because they cover four elements. If you already have 30 plant, 25 fire, etc. you'll only need 20-25 panlongs. Most of us cant level at your blazing speed and shrines are really something that's best saved for the endgame. There are also at least two limited dragons every month that cover 2-4 elements and can go a long way towards the shrines as well.
Also if you have the Bloom it is a much better option than Lichen.

Hi Oceanside--You've got me doing math and it's too early in the day!

The reason for Panlong over other hybrids is to keep down the treat cost. From level 14 to 15, it takes 40,960 x 4 = 163,820 treats. That's about $8,000,000 to buy Sarjin Peppers for each dragon you need to raise from 14 to 15. Thus, a hybrid that covers 4 elements vs. 2 or 3, is going to be cheaper.

I suppose I am in the end game, even though I have levels to go.

My "blazing speed" comes at a real dollar cost. I will have to rein myself in at some point.

I wish I had a Bloom. I joined the game too late for that. If I'm still playing next spring, I could get one then, so they say.
