Yeah the wiki is amazing, i wish i had that info when i started, like how a great way of making money is breeding the water and fire to make air, whose eggs sell for 500,000. Also, i know some of you may not wanna spend real money on this game but myself, i havent spent a dime on MT2 but ive prolly spent $50+ on DV now, UGH. I can say the single best purchase of the game was that super breeding island. I dont know what id do without it. Also, all 4 incubation pods in the egg hatchery. I think you start off with 1... its unfortunate because players starting off now will probably miss out on the emerald dragon cause may is almost over  Now someone asked about the gems, the ways to get gems are getting gifted daily by other players, you get one per person per day that way. And once you get the colisseum, you can earn up to 5 gems a day through that, which is great, you also earn a bit of money and a ton of exp. finally, the new gem dragons can earn 1 per dragon per week. Its taken me prolly 20 breedings just to get my one emerald...and im hoping to be able to get at least one more for the habitat and a few for display ... Not even sure ill chieve that goal |

OHHHH ALSOOOO I FORGOT The "Story" games by TeamLava have a new game out : DRAGON STORY It is a shameless ripoff of dragonvale but im actually enjoying it. Its cool to see new dragons and i find this game's art is a lot more cutesy girly, lots of sparkly crystals in the habitats and they even have a fairy dragon...so yeah i LOVE it bahaha Its new so there arent tons of dragons but i like that, i wish i had started mt2 and dv from the start so id have more limited stuff. Also, the prices and waiting times are kinda exorbitant but i suspect theyll balance out in the future. Their social system is a lot better than mt2 and DV as well. You make a storm8 id, and people add that, and you can post on their walls, neighbour invite, and gift as many people as you want. Im Archangel99 on there if anyone has it! Im enjoying playing both dragon games right now because they each offer what the other doesnt  |

Hey all, thanks for the tips. Archangel, I have also been playing on dragon story as well.. I find that one quite easy to get golds lol. And get to make coins with visiting and playing the dragons... They need to combine the 2 games. Dragonvale lands and building/decorations but dragon story dragons look nicer. Hehe

I played Dragon Story but didn't like it all. It was a complete ripoff of DV. I made it to level 2 and decided to delete it. There's nothing like DV...there will always be imitators trying to cash in on the success of DV, but none will be as good ;D
Arch, what is this "grass" dragon u speak of??? How do u breed it? I want one! Lol

There are so many DV ripoffs out there now. It's the new Angry Birds of iOS gaming. I found Dragon Story to be too cutesy for my taste. I'm a girl but so much glitter and pink is overwhelming  I like my dragons to be fiercer. DV has some very beautiful dragons like Sakura and Bloom that are more nature inspired and more to my liking. |

Seriously! What's ur secret Judy?? U were on level ten and one island a couple days ago. Now u have more emeralds than us  Lol. Congrats! Btw, I saw a yellow egg with red flames (like the frost fire) incubating in one of my friend's park. I've never seen that one before...wonder what it is??? Might be a secret dragon Edit: just checked DV breeding sandbox, the above mentioned egg is the new firefly egg. It was previously the same as the scorch. Copper dragon is out! Metal/ligtning  |

Hi Guys,
My secret is that I am dumping bucks into the game, beyond reason, perhaps. But, it has been so much fun!
My credit card fraud department called this morning to see if someone else was using my card!
This is my 4th day in DragonVale and 3rd in Dragon Story which I don't like nearly as well, but still spent money anyway.
Maybe I should check into Gamblers Anonymous. Thanks for noticing my progress. Sure wish we could communicate within the game.

Well, second breeding of lichen and crystal is giving me one of the 3 rare 48 hr timer ones... First one was a moss egg so displayed that.. I hope the 3rd time is the charm for at least 1 emerald dragon.. The 48 hour one still has til tomorrow before I find out what egg it will be.. This is why I have at least a sun and moon habitat but I gotta get the rainbow one just in case. You 3 who are on my list have amazing places. Love the way you all decorate it nicely |

I couldn't figure out why I couldn't gift you 3 today. Then, I decided to close and reopen the app. That worked.
I've been learning about decorating by seeing what others have done. I was frustrated by the paths narrowing until I learned to mass them.
In Dragon Story, I've not got the Diamond yet. Found TeamLava's game forum, but I'm not benefitting except that the pictures of the eggs help. It annoys me that we get only 100 coins for selling a dragon no matter the cost to get it!

Bahahaha thats why i dont have a credit card  anytime i need to buy online i buy giftcards or prepaid credit cards... Although ive prolly spent $1000 just on the activation fees of buying the cards over the last year or two :/ |

Thanks Judy!!! I'm trying out Dragon Story too. Please add me on both games! My name on Dragon Story is the same as mt2, suttontown. I am very lost on both games and just flying by the seat of my pants. But I think the dragons are totally adorable and I'm having fun.

Judy lol easy judy...DV can be very addicting and could easily suck u dry ;D i spent $70 on it ever since i started playing back in April. it's a game of patience, and i dont have too much of that lol my favorite dragon? the blue fire...not because he looks good, it's because it took me FOREVER to get that little guy! he has a very special place in my heart ;D the copper dragon is awesome! might be the best looking dragon next to the bloom and butterfly. it looks weighed down tho when she's flying...that metal tail must weigh a ton lol GC id: KECHIBAM....if anyone wants to add me. i have a rotating friends list for gems so i may not get u back immediately...but i WILL get u back |

The gifts in DV don't reset at midnight or even at once for everyone on your friends list. I find that it takes more than 24 hours before I can gift the same person and restarting the game doesn't help either. Also I'm sorry if I wasn't able to send you all a gem every day. With more friends in DV I now have to rotate my gifts. I've had horrible luck with the Emerald. So far this has been the hardest dragon to breed. I've gotten all three rares (Sun, Moon, Rainbow) amongst my failures as well as numerous crystals and cointless trees, lichens, etc. With so many 48 and 24 hour dragons even two caves are not enough. The month is almost over and I'm out of options I can't afford to spend a lot of money on DV and I just added $10 to my account. Hopefully it'll be enough to speed up the breed times and get the Emerald but I'm feeling very dejected. |

Wishing you well as you try for the Emerald. I found them easier to get than the Rainbow.
I suspect Emerald is only the first of a series that will belong to Gem Island.

Gifts are on a 24hr reset timer. I set my alarm 24 hrs and a few minutes everyday after gifting. For example, I gift at 6pm...by the time I'm done jotting down friends names and gifted, it'll be 6:03...so I set my alarm for 6:04 the next day. That way when I check in the next day, all my gifts have been reset. I've been doing this for the last month now and it works like a charm. It requires some extra work but I take my DV very seriously ;D Oceanside: don't give up! Sending u positive karma ur way +1 |

I'll keep trying, they haven't made an announcement yet on how long we have. They usually make it a bit easier with only 1-2 days left.
I imagine that Pearl (June dragon) will require the crystal as well. I'm hoping they'll keep the Emerald and other gem dragons year round. Just pair the crystal with a different hybrid each month.
