Just so you know, there is an App in the AppStore for ProBoards Forums. We've had at least one member that thought it had to be purchased to use this site on your mobile device. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PURCHASE THE APP.I personally DID pay for it, because it helps me manage and keep track of the forum on my phone. But, you can easily view and navigate the site just fine on your device's web browser. ProBoards detects that you are on a mobile device and sends a pop-up that an App is available. But if you click " Cancel" it will load the normal site.  |

I went and bought the Proboards app about two weeks ago and have found I like it quite a bit. It's much easier to read on the iPhone than on the browser and I like how it keeps track of unread posts. I don't see how you can post emoticons or links though. Is there a way to exalt people? Does anybody have any hints or advice on how to get the most of this app? Is chat available through the app?

I'm reply to your post using the Proboards app. As you are posting you will notice a bar at the top of the keyboard called "Open Advanced Options". From there you can post pictures from your camera or photo library. You can also post a link or map. Emoticons can be posted if you know the shortcut ( like so  ) . You can't chat through the app, but if you go to "chat" through web browser (Safari) and click on Mobile Chat link, it will bring up a nice web based chat interface. It is a simplified version of the board and I agree with liking the tracking of recent unread posts. But beyond what's covered here there are not a lot of other features. But I like it too. |

When I read the forums on my iphone (which I like to do during my commute) I'm not able to log in to read my messages or post anything.
I enter my user name and password and hit enter but then nothing happens and I'm still not logged in. Does anyone else have this problem when using Safari?
Because of this problem, I'm thinking of buying the Proboards app.

Because of this problem, I'm thinking of buying the Proboards app. Hmmm... I've never had this problem with the Safari browser on my phone. As a matter of fact, I just checked it and was able to log in and check my messages just fine. The proboards app definitely simplifies the process as it saves your log-in info. I have three log-ins - Solsville (main account), Sol (admin account) and Test (test account) and it saves a profile for each, so I can just tap on the profile I want and it takes me right in. Anyone else have problems logging in from mobile device? |

I can't see the persons signature or ID on proboard either - I use iPhone - can usually post and read messages ok

Phyl- are you talking about your messages in Safari? Same thing just happened to me and I hit the refresh button and it showed me as logged in and able to check messages. |
