Thank you, everyone, for the input! Sorry, I didn't see the original thread addressing this issue. Kon, you explained it really well, and it makes sense that each device should have it's own town. And that is what I am going to do.
Raven, the smaller screen on the phone may be a bummer for me (as far as the game goes), since I'm so used to the relatively large screen on the Ipad. But I'll give a new town a try - I just think it's going to be a very, very slow process! I'm not getting the new phone until Dec.

thanks, everything's ok, i got my new iphone 4, restored the backup, and all my apps come back flawlessly!!

so i had a great town, thousands of bucks and lost it all when i got a new phone, how do i go about contacting booyah to transfer my town? is it even possible? its so hard having to start over :/ i want my old town back

If you have an iTunes back up, you can restore from back up and your town should transfer to the new device. Edit: and your new town isn't showing any businesses yet... Sni
