My Mom has been playing myTown2 on her ipod and has now bought a new iphone4s. She made a mistake though when she installed MT2 on her phone and now she has two towns. Can she just delete the app on the iphone and reinstall it? Is there any other precaution she should take to prevent messing up her original town?

Hiya,
According to booyah, you cannot have the same booyah ID on 2 different devices. They do not recommend it at all. So her iPhone 4s SHOULD be a separate town with its own booyah ID, and will not interfere with her town on her Pod. I have the first generation iPad and a Iphone 4, both have their own booyah ID and different towns. So your mom shouldnt have any trouble with 2 different towns.
Sharazani.

I actually have my town on my iPhone 4s and my iPad 2. When I installed the app on my iPad it just picked up my town with no problem through game center. I did have an issue twice when when logging in back and forth I lost progress.
But I also ran into the problem of losing progress when I filled out a booyah feedback form prompted in the game. So I guess that is just a booth Database issue.

I'm probably going to get a replacement phone in the next week or two, and need to know if there is a way to get my progress (soon to be [according to my calculations] #1 in population) transferred to my new phone? I have spent well over 3,000 bucks, and countless hours slaving over my game to get to top levels, and don't want to loose my game at all.
Does anybody know a way to get the game to transfer from phone to phone?
Thanks!!

Your town is tied to your phone's unique ID which you will need to provide along with your Booyah ID.

I put in a booyah request today about this. I'm due for an upgrade in a month and yes, Siri and I will become best pals. I say that and I've used FaceTime once or twice in the year and 1/2 I've had this phone. So much for upgrades.
Anyhow, I'll post their response in this thread when I receive it.
***ah, oceanside replied... Contact booyah***

Here's are the instructions Booyah gave me when I switched phones....
Katelyn replied: We may transfer your town for you. To do this I need the User ID of the town on your older device and the User ID of the new town on your new device. Once you provide me this information, please delete the application off of your new device. I will then transfer your town for you, and after you receive the confirmation from me, you may then redownload the game again (and it will pull your old town).
Edit: my user Id was the same as my Booyah Id and can be found by clicking on the Mt2 app in Settings-->aps

Hi all,
I got a slash screen from booyah saying something about emailing support about transferring the game. I figure from the picture it has to do with iPhone to iPad transfers. Has anyone here done this?
Thanks

I want to add because I upgraded a 4 to a 4s and didn't have to go through Booyah (although I was prepared to).
Take your old device, sync and update all your apps through iTunes. Take the new device and when you plug it in, make sure it has a different name, and choose to restore from recent backup. I chose the most recent back up of my old phone and it transferred all the apps for me.
I do have an iMac I did this on, it may have different options using iTunes on a Windows computer.

Sni- What do you mean "make sure it has a different name"? I am only asking, because with iCloud, it seems to update the appls/contacts automatically. The only thing that concerns me, is which device will the new phone take my MT2 information from, since I have both the iPad and iPhone. I received this today.

Hey Ams- yes, the name of my iPhone 4 was "my iphone4" and when I plugged the new iPhone, I can't remember if it said "my iphone4s" automatically or if I renamed it. But I made sure it had a different name. I don't use the iCloud backup feature- I only sync manually and do each phone separate now.

When I changed IPads I wrote to booyah and they gave me the same instructions as above. MIT took a couple of days but it does happen.

hello everyone, tomorrow i'll bring my iphone4 in an apple center, (i've the home button problem), maybe they'll replace my phone with a NEW iphone4.
they said it's enough to do a complete backup via itunes on my pc, so this afternoon i'll do the backup.
do you confirm that tomorrow if i receive the NEW iphone 4, and restore the backup from itunes, i'll get back my complete city with all the coins and buck and all the upgrades, and there's no need to contact booyah to do the transfer??
i'm little worried..
thanks..

m206, I can only speak for myself here--- that's how I did it but I can't guarantee that it will work for you. Best to take a screen shot of your town and record your town ID# just in case you do need to contact Booyah.

Right now I play MT2 Getaways on an Ipad. Soon I will be getting an I-phone. So my question is can you/should you start a new game on your 2nd device? I know that some of you mention having two different towns. But I just thought that Apple or I-Cloud would just automatically merge the two games. What are your thoughts? I'm not sure I would want to start from scratch with a whole new town, and have to clear all that land again! But maybe I don't even have a choice? I know someone here will have all the answers!

Hi Cat- Please see this thread. The answer really depends on many things. The easy answer is to contact Booyah and have them transfer your town over to your new device or just have two different towns. One on each device. I have both the iPhone and iPad and they are 2 different towns. (But I didn't have a choice.) mytown2.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=478

Hi Catintex! You CAN have the same number Id on the both iDevices BUT IT'S NOT RECOMMANDED! I will try to explain - Using iTunes you can "Restore from Backup" your new iPhone and the MT2 will be transfered with all the info including the ID number ! But now picture this ! You have the same town , the same items, the same amount of bucks, bla, bla - on both iDevices!!! If you do a change on your iPad for example - immediately , you have to do the same change on your iPhone !!!!!! The reason --- THE SERVER UPDATE !!!!! If you do different changes on every iDevice - how this will be updated by the servers Impossible !!! Without losing progress in one of your idevice's town!!! It make sense to you? The same ID (2 or more) can't be updated separatelly on Booyah servers!!!! That's why they recommand - every iDevice with an ID ! Hope it helps! Start a new town!!! And right after send me a PM! Will discuss more

Cat I play on an iPhone! It is a real challenge! Due to tiny size and never really get to appreciate "scope" of town and its citizens! I'd start a new town on phone as a trial and just see if you like playing in that small screen! I've never used an iPad so not really aware of other pros and cons ie. taking screen pics etc. I'm treating myself to an iPad mini at some point! it will seem like a monster screen compared to my phone!!! Lol

I've got different towns on both. I like having more than one so I can decorate two different ways, though Raven is right - it's a bit of a bother going from an iPad to a tiny iPhone screen. I friended my iPhone town so I could get a better look at it on my iPad when I needed to, though. Sometimes I forget I can't edit L'Arc when I'm looking at it on the ipad, and start poking at the screen thinking I have a bunch of franchises on there, lmao. XD
