There are a number of different business types in MyTown 2. Some are more popular than others. For example - Travel businesses aren't as common as Restaurants.
But, in your own town, if you change the look of your business to the look of a different business type, it will take on the properties of that new look.
So, for example, if you are having trouble finding a Travel business with high popularity - go ahead and get a Restaurant with high popularity - and change it to a Travel business. Problem solved.

Premium Upgrade Looks aka "Skins", General Information
By GraceGirl ProBoards #1227 Feb 9, 2012, 10:10 AM Just wanted to let the newer players know that when you switch your "Premium Upgrade Look" over to an office to make money w/ the stock exchanges..you Do Not lose it.. Even if you franchised it and didn't pay the upgrade fee in bucks.. Once it is unlocked.. mine have all stayed that way.. I know I was worried about this when I first started sooo.. hth!
By licat Proboards #1230 Feb 9, 2012, 10:35 AM Just to expand on GraceGirl's clarification on "Premium Upgrade Looks", buying it only applies to that specific business; even though you bought the look once, it is not unlocked for use on other businesses. (Therefore it follows that if that particular business is sold off, the PUL is also gone.)
Q&A How can you get the Premium Look at no cost? Franchise another Mayor's business wearing an upgraded look and the new business will appear in your town wearing the upgraded skin.
Does the Premium Look increase a business' revenue? No. The skins are merely for appearance and to add variety to your town. However, the skins may interest more Mayors to franchise a business wearing the Premium Look (see above Q) which in turn increases the owner's revenue.

Does upgrading to the premium look add any coins to jobs or is it simply a better visual?

It's just for looks. There is no immediate financial gain. Someone may be more interested in franchising your business if it has a premium skin though.

Okay I just updated mytown2 and saw the pop up and it should me the new skins. This was amazing since the new skins looked fantastic. The only bad thing is that the new skins cost 40 green bucks.
