Thought you guys might like to know, Booyah has posted some comments on their facebook page, one in response to the more land requests > are they finally listening to us? Yes I left a comment on there. They were saying for months they couldn't give us land 'Katie's line was they couldn't give us land as it wouldn't work across all the different devices'. So at least now the party line has changed to 'we are working on trying to give you land'... Sounds more promising.

Wow, they actually responded on facebook. That is encouraging. I haven't seen them respond to many comments on facebook before. I have discovered that I will spend money on a game but it has to make sense. I think Booyah will hurt themselves in the long run if they don't do something. The game basically has a cap. Once you run out of room, you are done. No one wants to spend real money on items then have to sell them for coins to make room for the next new item. It just doesn't make sense. It seems so many other games have storage...that it should be a easy for them to add that feature. Personally, I would be thrilled with storage because I would love to do some cool temporary decorating in my town but I just can't bear to sell of the things I already have to do it. Ok, now I'm just rambling...

Jaye, was the spelling in your last sentence on purpose or a typo? Either way, it works for me! ;D

Ok, now I'm just rambling... I agree with you completely! It's not hard for them to give us storage, the facility is already built into the game. It can only be money that makes them hold back on these things. All the time and effort they keep putting into all these things we don't want and have to buy... But as stated here and facebook they are doing themselves a disservice and people are leaving the game. But you see bad business sense everywhere. We assume because they are a business they know what they are doing. It's not necessairly so as they are proving.

Although many of you have posted that you wouldn't pay for land I think you might if it was done right. I am looking at a comparison between DragonVale and here. I have spent real money about 5 times now - unheard of for me. dragonVale have obviously got the balance right between new players and keeping long service players interested. They keep on adding things, and many features have a time factor in them - that's where I blow my money.
MT could do that too. For eg you buy something already moderately expensive, then you need something else also moderately expensive before you can get / attain something of high value that is limited edition. Eg you buy (game bucks) a mansion that will only go on a superior priced piece of land (also game bucks) and if you landscape garden the land with slow to grow trees that you can speed up the growth also with in game bonds (different to bucks) you only then get the limited edition limo. You can earn the bucks and the bonds and the coins as now, but the bonds you only earn a few at a time or buy them.
With so many jail broken devices out there I think they full well know that bucks are easy to come by - however a popular game which sells land or storage for a SMALL amount of real money will help them make money from the jail breakers too. There are cheats all over the Internet telling people how to get bucks, coins, gems and probably carrots LOL so the only way for developers to make real money from their FREE game is to have something that is an IN APP PURCHASE.
The secret is do MT know how to make it exciting enough to make people want to do so? I question that - they are very slow to respond to what people are saying so they are not really in touch with gamers.
As I said above I have never spent more than a dollar or two on real money for in app purchases before - my Words With Friends and my Alarm clock etc are all still the free versions despite the annoying advertising, yet I think I have probably already spent $100 real money on DragonVale. There are so many features in there which clash with my impatience e.g. Dinosaurs that take 48 hours to breed an egg that then takes hours to hatch that you need in order to breed it to something else to get something else that is limited - so you pay to hurry it up so you don't miss out.
Long answer. Yes. I would pay for more land if they then also had some more exciting things to buy, for e.g. Theme things. At the moment even on my tiny plot there is very little for sale that I don't have already that I actually want. I cAn afford it. I just don't want it.
Sorry for the rant, but I am a new player compared to you guys and I am bored already. They really have to do something.

I agree with the idea that a warehouse or storage would be more valuable than more land. I use storage in Farm Story and City Story. It's free there, but I would pay a small amount for a warehouse in MT2.

It is all about money. If you think about it, storage means they will have to upgrade their $erver$ with biggers hard drives to keep all the items each player has accumulated. I'm sure they will charge real dollars to do so. I'm not sure I'm willing to pay for all of that.
More lands will means many devices will be working extra hard to keep the animations running smoothly. Not counting the capacity necessary to keep the game in store. This is a dilema that should be handled by the players. Booyah should have thought about this even before introducing this game. There are ways to improve this by being more efficient in coding and the use of analytical algorithms to keep the game running at a decent speed.
