So well executed - amazing job man. For anyone who hasn't seen it, there is a picture of it on pg. 4 of this thread. That's...that's really classy. I am sure Andy appreciates it - it's actually also in theme with the town of cAndyland itself, as anyone who has ever visited it knows that Andy wrote out his name using paved road. Not sure if CMeister intended it as a direct homage, but either way, I was personally knocked out. |

My new name, in honor of Candyland, is Caramel Eggville; in recognition of the fact that my original name is Chocotown I wanted to remain chocolaty, and Easter is coming up.

I just want to say THANK YOU for everyone that is participating in this event. This is truly a surpise and unexpected! Thank you Barracuda Bay for setting this up. All this franchising takes up alot of time, but the people here are great and I don't mind helping out where I can. Peace Andy AWESOME! I've never seen you post before. A couple of announcements...
1. Thanks for playing, guys! List has been updated. I have been keeping tabs on all participants with the exception of three whose Booyah IDs I don't have: mustang123, wbruff & addisonworld. You guys have all been E-mailed to provide info to receive credit. Anyone who didn't change their town name, or changed it back prematurely has been stricken from the list.
2. Giving +2 karma to anyone who extends their "Candyland Appreciation" until Sunday night, i.e. 11:59pm EST. Otherwise, you can all change it back tonight at 11:59pm EST.
3. Solsville and I are in the process of voting for the "top 3" names. On Sunday night around 11:59pm EST, I will announce all winners, and runners-up for 4th and 5th place.
1st place: additional +5 karma and 3 buck franchises
2nd & 3rd place: 1 buck franchise
At that time, all karma and other prizes will be handed out.

PRIZES
Alright guys, so it's been fun, but Candyland Appreciation is officially over. Everybody who participated and changed their town name to a candy name for 48 hours received +10 karma; those who opted to keep it that way for an additional 72 hours received an additional +2 karma. After the 48 hours were up, I awarded the +10 karma to those who had earned it; at this time, I have now awarded the additional +2 for those who qualified. See full roster with total karma earned, below.
A grand total of 54 members changed and kept their town name "candified" for 48 hours; of those 54, 50 of them chose to keep the candy name for the additional 72 hours. Very, very impressive. The combined efforts of the community have earned cAndyland an additional +54 karma, by far the largest karma award we've ever given out!!!
And now for the winning entries for best candy name, along with prizes:
1st place = Licat - Abba-Zaba Acres (+8 karma & +3 buck franchises)
Comments from Admins: Awesome use of alliteration; very memorable; wacky sound; unusual choice of candy; lots of originality.

Thanks to the Mods who put considerable work into this and made it such a success...I realise how much time this must take, and appreciate the chance to have some fun in honour of cAndyland.
And huge kudos to you, Andy...you only need to look at the number of people who wanted to do this to know the respect you have in this community. And well deserved too!
As an aside - I have learnt the names of at least a dozen candies that I have never heard of - VERY useful for world touring!!
