All right, time to announce the first monthly community event:
CANDYLAND APPRECIATION
Introduction - Although there have been numerous buck franchisers helping out the community since we started in Mac Rumors (such as Zaffre, Yool & Svenbob, among others), nobody has been as prolific or longstanding as our very own CANDYLAND. Even current buck franchisers like Pekman and Chillitown got their start from good ol' Andy. Therefore, this month let's give back to him for all his generosity.
Here's how this works:
1. Everybody who wishes to participate in this event must sign up here in this thread. I can't count you unless you sign up, since I won't know to check on you come event time.
2. For 48 hours, beginning midnight EST on March 21 and ending midnight EST on March 23, all participants must change their town names to a candy themed name. I.e., Peppermint Place, Butterfinger City, The Milky Way, etc. in honor of member Candyland for his great contributions and assistance to the collective membership.
EDIT: If you keep your candy town name until midnight EST on March 26th, you get an additional +2 karma.
3. You choose the name, and post it here in the thread. You don't have to do it when you sign-up, and if you haven't done it by the day of the event, I'll be contacting you by PM. I must have all names before the event begins in order to credit you. I will post a full list of all participants and their "new" town names a few hours before the event. You have until 11pm EST on March 20, 2012 to sign up.
4. Everybody who participates gets +10 karma points on their user account. For each person who participates, Candyland gets +1 karma to his user account.
5. Whoever comes up with the best candy themed name (to be judged by Solsville and I), gets an additional +8 karma.
EDIT: 1st place also gets 3 buck franchises, 2nd place gets +5 karma & 1 buck franchise & 3rd place gets +2 karma & 1 buck franchise.
6. Very important: your town name must stay changed for the duration of the event for you to receive credit.
7. Be creative: the new name can be a clever variation on the name you already have. Some examples:
GraceGirl = GraceGoodbar
Wisdomville = WillyWonkaville
Followthesun = Followthesnickers
And that's it! Let the fun begin...
