Hey all, Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I have been trying to help out newbies by franchising and since i am buck limited (have an unjailbroken device), what I do is franchise a low pop business (often find some that cost a buck!). They get 50 bucks and it cost me 1 buck . And then I delete the business I just franchised and get coins. Sooo, I got to thinking --what a great way to give and get bucks ( and also get coins too)! If we all had one extremely low pop business, we could franchise cheaply from each other and make a good net profit! I franchise your dollar biz, you get 50 bucks, then you franchise my dollar biz and I get 50 bucks plus we get a few coins when we sell the franchised biz! Of course if the popularity of our cheap biz goes up, we can always sell and replace so we always have a cheap franchise opportunity for our friends! And of course, you have to franchise with bucks! Whaddya think? . You would have to have 34 businesses plus one cheapie biz for this to work (one open slot so you can reciprocate). Anyhow, My cheapie bz will be next to the church, if you want to try it and I will franchise you back! Also, you might want to wait for feedback on this idea from our village elders--I think this would work tho.

I don't think it works that way. I think when you franchise someone they get a percentage of what you buy it for. I think for coins it's about 15%. I would imagine bucks is about the same, but I'm not sure. The upper limit you can receive is capped at 50 bucks. I've had businesses franchised and only received 1 buck for it.

I am not sure either although I have never gotten any less than 50 bucks for my franchises.

Was wondering why u franchised my low pop business and when I looked at ur town it wasn't there. Yea, it doesn't work, i only got a buck for it. Thx for trying tho!

As you may or may not know I tend to franchise a lot of businesses during the course of the day.
Today is the first day that I have ever noticed this happen. Normally when I visit a town and go to franchise it the popularity of the business is almost always different from when the person origianlly acquired the business (either higher or lower). Usually I see a business drop significantly when I franchise the business. I discovered today that if I franchise the business fast enough I am able to maintain the same popularity that the origianl purchaser had for that business. I have been able to duplicate this five different times. Before today the highest popularity for a business that I have ever had was for Quick at 92,272. Today I have franchised Bonfini Pastabar (166264), Starbucks Coffee (145167), Dominos Pizza (135417), Ritz Hotel 128305 and Nintendo World (123749). You can see these totals in my stats but if you franchise them you and wait a few seconds you will see the popularity revert back to the current going rate. This is working for bucks but is VERY costly. I have not tested it yet but I can only guess that it would work for coins too.
Thought I would pass this along for those of you who are wanting buisnesses with the highest popularity.

Was wondering why my pop was so low for the same business, compared to other mayors...so speed is of the essence. Will definitely give it a try with coins.

I thought I would try something impossible so I visited Wonderland's town and franchised his most popular buisness (Universal Studios 440,003). I was able to get it at that high amount but it cost me nearly 75,000 bucks!

How do you know where you are on the Leaderboard, where is this board?? I have an ap on my iPhone called Game Center and it shows the games that I play. For MT2 It gives a leaderboard based on Popularity, Check-in Bonuses, Jobs Completed and Population. It will show what your ranking is based on those four criteria. Currently it shows that there are over 2.5 million players! Currently I am #121 for Popularity, #72,715 for Check-In Bonuses, #8,412 for Jobs Completed and #1,833 for Population. I haven't done a check-in on a business in months and I am only completing a few jobs each day.

Good tip Chilli.
I'm guessing when you franchise a business and then delete it that the franchise expires after a certain amount of time. Or maybe its that you can only franchise three of my businesses. I know you have franchised almost all of my businesses at least once but right now your only showing on three. cAndyLand franchised one of my business a week ago and it still shows him as a franchiser.
So when you franchise my business i receive bucks or coins which cannot be taken away and I receive a boost to population for my business. Does that stay on there or not? I want the 50 bucks but don't I also want the lower popularity businesses to be franchised to increase their popularity?

I want the 50 bucks but don't I also want the lower popularity businesses to be franchised to increase their popularity? When I am franchising from you or anyone I try to find the businesses with at lest 10,000 popularity. By franchising them this gives you the maximum of 50 bucks for the franchise or at least pretty close to that, I do not have the exact figures for the lowest popularity that will give 50 bucks. I normally franchise in bucks unless I get a specific request and then I will change locations so I can give them coins. I try to franchise at least one or two businesses if time permits or if it is a fairly new player I will do their entire town because usually when they are first starting out they have just found this forum and still have lots of local businesses from their real location. After I franchise your business I will immediately delete it so that I can choose that same high popularity business from another town. This allows me to go a little faster as I do not have to search all of their businesses to find a high one to franchise. I am pretty certain that I franchised you today so it might stay with you for a week but I really can't answer that. I know you have all apple stores and I do not have an apple store in my town, at least not on a permanent basis just yet. From what I have seen every time I franchise a business it gains 20 points in popularity, at least it does this for a business that is not very popular. Unfortunately they tend to lose these 20 points fairly quickly. I believe that check-ins also increase your popularity but it is such a slow process, 1 point at a time per check-in, that it would take forever to raise the popularity and hope for it to remain high. I know I got a little long winded here but hopefully I have answered your question.

Hey Chilli,
When you get a chance can you franchise the following in my town:
Apple Store - NY Tessan Nathan's Famous Sweet City
I'll keep track of the bucks and maybe we can narrow it down a little. (just for the hell of it).
