Hi all,
First of all, I would like to thank RHs that help me get the "dream" items I always wanted but cost too much bucks.
I don't have enough bucks to be a RH but the least I can do is to give some tips to newbies.
Step 1: Follow the tutorial
Step 2: The first step when you open this game is to turn off the location device and select high density area. Go to menu-store-business search-near. You can choose New York if you can't decide.
There are some threads somewhere in this forum on how to do this.
Step 3: Once you reached a certain level and can franchise a business. Go to the franchise thread and find players with high pop > 5k level 10 businesses. eg four seasons hotel, dominoes pizza, nintendo world, yankee stadium, radio city hall and so on. Always franchise a business rather than buy it. Franchise a lvl 10 business gives you a good 50% bonus. See step 7 later when you want to buy sentimental businesses.
Step 4: start collecting coins and so on. Now when you reached a certain number of business say 14-18 (??). One need to count whether it is better to build population and franchise business or buy the stock exchange wonder.
To do this calculate the amount of coins you can collect say in 1 hour. For example, you collect 40,000 coins per hour. If you were to build another business it will net you 3,000 coins for 1 hour job. If you were to build just 1 stock exchange it will give you 20% boost which gives you 8,000 coins per hour. So in this example, it is better to build stock exchange. Don't worry too much if you get this wrong - you can always estimate.
Don't forget to convert all your business to "office types" to get the bonus
Step 5: keep building the stock exchange and land expansion, in fact when I did this 80% of my town is covered with stock exchanges!
Step 6: when one reached 150 million, decide how you want your town to look like on a piece of paper. The 150 million should give you a buffer to buy new items or if there is any future extension.
Step 7: Sell off all your stock exchanges and build your town. You might want to sell of those high pop business and replace it with those business that have sentimental value. It is up to you to decide what you want to do. You should have enough coins to buy anything you want. I suggest turning on your location device now and buy those business that have sentimental value.
I hope my advice help and build the town of your dreams. Also if you make a mistake and accidentally upgrade a business send an email to Booyah support service and they will reimburse you. But they will only do it once.
My wish is that Booyah reduce the cost of bucks. I did actually buy some bucks from Booyah when they reduce the bucks it by half price.

Thanks for the advice. This is the first online game i've played. Just wish I'd found this site much sooner. Afraid I've progressed a long way down a dead end road. Probably should consider starting over. Started out just wanting to build a realistic town with favorite businesses, but now I think I would like it to be more artistic.
The biggest problem I have is that for a LONG time I've been unable to buy any businesses. Every time I reach the population goal, it just resets to a new higher goal! Is this a glitch or is there a way around it? Now since I don't have very productive businesses, it's taking forever to get new land (kind of boring to just be clicking stars and blue moons).
What would happen if I just sold off most of my stuff and started fresh, but with the land I've accumulates so far? Thanks again to any one who can help.

I went to your town and notice that you dont have any high popularity biz (more than 5000)
I strongly advise not to sell everything. I will try to salvage as best as I could
I suggest 1) selling those biz that have low pop. Those less than pop 200 2) turn off your location in iPad and set it to new York (or Paris) 3) sell off wonders like Hot springs and fashion museum and megamalll. Buy stock exchanges 4) change all ur biz to offices 5) wait until you have enuf coins to franchise this high pop biz like four seasons hotel, dominoes pizza etc Are you able to do these steps?

Remember though there are different ways to play game! I never wanted to go the high popularity route! I did get 3-4 of them just to take advantage of RH's franchising to build up some bucks! (hugs to them always) but for players who don't want to location change etc. you can make millions with housing and either notredame wonder or stw snow globes - both these wonders compound and you can make millions/hr!

Good point Raven. At the least, just a few high pop businesses to get some bucks. The wonders will definitely help with the coins.
Elwood, this is a great thread for helping the new players. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Raven and Snibull.
That's right another strategy is to use the compounding effects of notre dame and housing
So
Step 1: is to post in the franchise and gifting thread asking for bucks. Step 2: should have min of 10 notre dame about 850 bucks. I think. Step 3: sell off all the community buildings and decorations. Have just a few business. In other words, one should have 0 community and decorations and a min number of business. The purpose of businesses is to allow RHs to franchise them to give you bucks. The bucks are required to buy the notre dame wonder. Step 4: use bucks to buy the notre dame wonder and use coins to buy housing and expansion. You need to check the thread on which housing gives you the most coins
This strategy is faster than the one I originally proposed. Unfortunately, the wonder came after I I bought all the expansion.

A few questions from a noob:
1. Once you have a lot of coins, what are the best way to start earning some bucks?
2. Once you're rich with bucks, how do the incredibly rich people maintain an inflow of bucks?
3. Wonders that do not "compound" still stack, correct? As in, more Wonders give you more coins, just not as many right?
4. I still don't understand, what is the benefit of purchasing a business over franchising? I just don't see much of an incentive...
Thanks guys! Hopefully I get some answers here! If not, I'll try to post it elsewhere!

Hi incronaut! There are ways in the game to help earn bucks through errands, but the main way is through being franchised. Check out this thread for more information: www.mytown2.net/index.cgi?board=gifts&action=display&thread=3We should update this list to include our forum games. Just go to the community events thread and you'll see a games listed. Some earn you franchises! There really isn't a way to "save money" other than not spend it (not being funny... But really, that's true). You are correct about the wonders. You have to decide how fast it will take you to earn back the investment of the wonder to know how many to purchase. Buying from the Booyah store still means you have to pay for the jobs. When you franchise, you get a % bonus boost depending on the level the business is on when you buy it and all your jobs are free! Hope this helps!

Hey Snibull! Thanks so much for helping and thanks for the franchising You answered all the questions well, except I think you answered the last question backwards, I understand why franchising is good, but I'm wondering what buying from the Booyah Store has in advantages? Also, what are some smart ways to spend my bucks now that this great community has helped me out so much? I bought Mt.Fuji because.. yeah..

Incronaut- there really isn't an advantage when buying businesses from the store. When you franchise from someone, you get a bonus percent based off the level the business is (see pics for difference between Level 2 giving you a 10% bonus and Level 10 giving you a 50% bonus) and all your jobs are free! Level 2 Level 10

Well, while there is no "advantage" to buying businesses over franchising, sometimes you can't find the business you want in anyone's town. But now you're here, just ask someone to build it for you, and franchise it off them! XD They don't have to keep it, and you still get to do all jobs for free.

I had the amazing good fortune of winning a IPad Mini today. I'm going to transfer my game and sell my IPod. I was wondering if there are any tips or tricks related specifically to playing on an IPad? If you feel like sharing I'd appreciate the advice.
I hope i put this in the right spot.

I had to ask, I had no idea, what for. I was told that I was the winner at the bookstore for a new iPad mini!!! So cool. Just when your starting to think Karma has forgotten you....

I wanted to share some experience. Definitely no expert! So correct me if I'm wrong. Since so many of our wonders are either gone or not working the same placing Championship Stadiums and changing businesses to Entertainment might help build coins. You just have to be lucky enough to get the Stadiums on the STW. When I started playing a couple of months ago, Iwas just buying businesses because of their appearance, not realizing that could be changed anytime. Before, we could get free snow globes to boost our housing.
The other thing that helped me a lot was buying the Space Station. Had to wait till I had a high popularity business, and the RH'S franchises paid 50 bucks. Before, I was always behind on population, but after never had problems again.
