If you'd like to park a vehicle so it stays in one place, there are several posts that tell you how. (Thanks for understanding if I missed anyone's post, it was not intentional, I just couldn't find it/them.) First things first, here is the menu path to find the 'paved roads'. By the way, roads are cost free! Thank you Booyah! Menu > Store > Decorations > Paved Road (very first item) FREE! You will have to tap one more then you need before tapping the Red X to end. ======================================= By pekman « Reply #1056 on Mar 8, 2012, 7:55pm » I put a single road piece where I want the car/limo to sit. It must not touch any other roads or it will not work. Also, you may have to keep moving it until you find the right spot as each different location produces a different result. ======================================= By licat« Reply #1194 on Mar 9, 2012, 5:36pm » Okay, I know someone else described how s/he parked a car in their town. I did it by accident before, but now I did it on purpose. lol! A red convertible, a yellow pickup truck, and a yellow VW van are now parked in my town.
For those of you who might have missed the instructions, the trick is to place a single piece of road where it will not touch another road. When you red X to stop adding roads, a car may pop up. If it doesn't, delete the piece of road and place a new one. The appearance of a vehicle seems to have some randomness. It seems to work best when the single piece of road touches a housing or community item that is known to give a vehicle, e.g. Trailer Home gives the yellow pickup truck. e.g., playground gives the little ice cream truck.
Refer to the Inhabitants and Vehicles of My Town 2 list of vehicles and the Housing and town items that give them.
3/18 eta: A revelation...lol! Place a housing item with no other roads touching it. Place a single piece of road touching it. That single piece of road must only touch that item.
To decorate and fill the open areas, I place trees, bushes and small items in the gaps around the building. Please note, the parked car is the one that is given by that housing item. ======================================= By ingenuousca « Reply #1370 Today at 9:53am » Maday, you have to play with a single placement of pavement. Place it in different spot and near different buildings, you'll find many of the vehicles....I haven't gotten the limo because I lost all my VIP items that the limo came with, but I have a police car parked near my police station, and a red convertible near my mansion. Have fun placing the tile around your town...

Thanks for summarizing and posting. This has got to be one of my favorite underrated tricks in the game.

I've tried and tried to park a limo outside my Playboy Bunny mansion but can't get it there I accidentally parked the ice cream van once lol but moving a bit of road as it arrived there but I can't do that with the limo either. I made room for it, two clear lines the depth of a Road and tried every spot but no luck.

Jayegirl: Good morning. The Playbunny Mansion appears not to give any vehicles. The VIP Mansion and VIP Statue are the only ones we know for certain gives the white limousine. So if you want a white limo, you will have to place the single piece of road next to one of your 6 VIP statues. How about placing a statue next to the Playbunny Mansion and then park a limo? The parked car you get is specific to the Housing or Community item. e.g., a limo won't show up with a Victorian. But you will get a VW bus with the Victorian. I didn't know it was possible, but to try and catch a passing car sounds like a lot of work. Please read my entry at the top of this thread. If you still have questions, post here and I will try to help.

Sadly my mansion is esconed and there is no moving it as I have very little space but thanks for you help It was by accident I caught the ice cream van that day, total fluke... I know this having tried to capture the Limo lol. Too much time on my hands I think lol. Many thanks

Jayegirl: Glad it worked for you. But as you might have learned, since yesterday's update, the white limos have vanished from every town. Everyone wants them back. Hopefully Booyah will be able to fix this. *fingers crossed* I've had to move things around to make space. But I'm silly, I enjoy the remodeling.

Ok, first: I didn't find any other thread on this but i cldve searched on wrong words so if this is a dup sorry n it can be deleted. But I ran across this on accident n thought it was cool n wanted to share. So, what I discovered is that sometimes a single, unconnected piece of road can have a (stationary) car on it, as if said car were, say, parked in a driveway. And, having discovered this, it occured to me that i could use this road piece like a decoration. As for when you will get a car instead of a blank square of road; the road square must be within a certain distance from a building or house that has a car associated with it. So far that distance seems to be two squares. (and don't forget, the road square must not be connected to any other road) Side note: I don't know at this time if doing this will effect the traffic on your roads or if you can do this more than once on one building or house. K, that's it, if any1 else thinks it cool too.

Hi aqua, yes this has been the case since the game started, that you can park the car associated with a building next/near the building. Once you park it, there will be one less car moving in the roads. Yes, you didn't have to start another thread on this, there is already a thread in the tips and hints section : Paved Roads & How to "Park" a Vehicle in Your Town « Thread Started on Mar 11, 2012, 7:34pm » Read more: www.mytown2.net/index.cgi?board=tips&action=display&thread=164#ixzz20hnCMA5N

Certain buildings have vehicles associated with them. So, it has to be one of those items and you get one per. There is a list of items with their vehicles and people in the tips and tricks section. mytown2.net/index.cgi?board=tips&action=display&thread=23If the vehicle is parked, it isn't moving around on the roads, so yes, it does affect traffic. That section has some very helpful info so I recommend looking around there.

All my bucks in my new town came from the spin to win glitch, I got lucky.
As for the car, try building small roads of just 2-4 pieces of road and when you get the car you want on it go to edit and take away a peice or 2 and see if the car stays. That is how for a short time I got an ambulance in front of my hospital. But then I rearranged and lost it.

Parking a car next to a building is hard work. I tried this once, I ended up having the taxi parking, then when restarting Mytown 2 It was a black limo. It's strange but you can still do it!

I'm still getting bucks on the glitch, just not as many in the new town. I will never complain about that ;D
I think I'll try to get a car to park later today, I have time and am bored, between that and trying to find Wally it'll be a fun, wasteful few hours. Or maybe not.

I've been playing with this and can get a car to park but once I go back into edit mode or reopen mytown the car changes or disappears. So not really worth it to me.

Lol, yeah I made that mistake first time. Trying to put a car outside a house that didn't come with a car lol. Have a look at my towns and you'll see how it looks. Has to be away from a road, it doesn't work 100% for some reason but just keep putting in one piece of road, come out of edit and see if it's worked.

I have the ice cream truck locked and the school bus locked! Also, if you so desire to have a section of road without cars on it, you must first fence the area off (or hedges), including corners. This is useful if you wanted to make a car park or a runway for an airport business! Check out my town, in the far right corner is my airport, vehicle free! Of course if you have a building that is linked to a vehicle in the fenced off area, the vehicle will be locked in that area and drive around it all day!

Got my ambulance, police car and black limo parked.
I also tried the the fire engine but it keeps wanting to face the wrong direction (even when I rotate the road block). Guess I'll try again when i have more space to work with. And the icecream truck keeps trying to park on top of the school bus.

This sounds cool. I think I'll wait until I've cleared the land and start making more space. Too busy cramming things in to earn coins for land purchases at the mo.
