Melz isn't it hard to sit back and keep our mouths shut !!!!! Lol - it has been the hardest thing I've had to learn as a mother of adult children! I "was" such a organizer - they called it controlling!!!!!  Ok - brief description of daughters wedding 10 yrs ago Her - beautiful! Dark ruby gown with black cloak - Him - sartorial all black - married in a beautiful Chinese garden temple in the middle of Vancouver Chinatown - note: no parking Note: absolutely no Asian blood in heritage so where does all that come from!?!?! Will we ever understand our children ? Lol Raven 29067906 Lol. Maybe she was Chinese in a previous life? She would have looked gorgeous and I am sure the whole thing would have been different from any of her friends.. I agree raven. It is so hard for me to keep my mouth shut sometimes... I have taken to breathing in, counting to 10...20... And then exhaling before I respond. Lol. Yes, apparently I am controlling and have OCD!!! ( this is because i label everything and have everything in its place) But if I wasn't as a single parent for most of their lives, we wouldn't have gone from A to B!! But the good thing is they both individually called me and said how much they appreciated all I have done for them.. Of course I sat and sobbed. What a sook! Phew after that I might have a LARGE coffee with two shots of baileys. Don't worry that it is the crack of dawn over here. Thank you bartender. Good morning/evening all |

Morning Melzzzzy, coffee is on and the crumpets are in the toaster  OMG woman you are on the ball lol. Don't forget the baileys in my coffee please. These dragons are driving me nuts.. Someone was talking about $10 for gems. I don't know how to just spend $10. I go for the $50!!! Lol |

I tried this morning to see if I could get a sun or rainbow but no luck. I tried some of the combinations you had listed on the DV thread. At least I got short fails (30m) But now I have given it a rest now. I will try again tonight. Going to walk up to the library and do my 5km walk. Its been raining cats and dogs for days now, and today the sun shines and the sky looks clear, not sure for how long though.... Maybe I should take a jug of Baileys with me |

I would definitely have had you phoning around for me if I was that busy and only had 3 months left to sort it lol. I'd assume if she is in that business she might have some connections for venues? Whenever I am home the Olympics is on lol. I've taken today off (very slow at work over the summer) and I don't work fridays, also off monday I've another week off end of August and there's a bank holiday. I and the other two administrators take as much time off as possible because it's painfully slow in the school holidays but we are still contracted to work. We try to work as many 3 day weeks as poss at this time of yr. We thankfully have 6 wks holidays here including bank holidays so we are lucky. When I was in Vancouver I had 2 wks vacation a yr for 13 yrs  |

She pulls herself together, trouble is her mother then stews after the hysterics and wants to take over and fix. Quite a fine line isn't it? So I am learning patience albeit very slowly and the need to let them sort things out their way ( not necessarily my way lol). Sometimes very hard to bite my tongue. That's great that you can take time off like that. So important to have a work life balance. We have something called flex days here. You work extra hours during the normal work day. Which eventually adds up to a whole work day which the. You can take off. If you get my jist? We get 4 weeks leave here. Yeah I know the leave in the states was for two weeks as well. I did that for eight years :-( |

Well that means that you have raised a strong, independent woman that can take care of herself Melz, she will come to you when she needs to and knows she can. So you do right, leave her to it and she will ask when she needs help.
Yeah the holidays in north america suck lol. I so hated that when I lived there. We also have flexi time here too. I do a job share so I can work from as little as 15 hrs up to 30 but 30 is very rare it's only to cover holidays at busy times. It tends to be 20hrs. But we can cover for each other whenever we need to and swap shifts etc. Although I am looking for another job as they have decided in their wisdom that 3 ppl is too many. It would be better if we had 2 ppl supporting the several different offices but they have decided that one will suffice for all. Of course that is crazy but that's the way things are going with the cuts. Also several of the clinics have lost their funding too. So big changes at work and I was last in. I'll do some agency work for a while if I can't find something permanent that is suitable though.
How are you dragons doing?

Don't you also find that "they" come to us all in a panic about anything - leave us all churned up and wanting to help and the next time you talk to them they've totally moved on - either fixed it or wasn't that important in the end!?!?! Nothing that I can do about it Raven so no point in sitting around feeling sorry and wanting it to be different. I might take a bit of time off I'll find something else and I'm happy to do work through an agency if I don't find something when I need it. Kids hey, I'm glad I only had dogs lol. |
