Instructions for Taking a Screenshot with your iDevice:Once you have a picture or image pulled up on your device you will simply need to press your "home" button and your "power" button at the same time. ** "home" button - the round button on the front or face of your device. ** "power" button - the rectangle button on the top of your device. Make sure you don't hold the buttons - down just simply press and let go. You will hear a little click and your screen will turn white for a second and it's done. Your pictures will be visible on your camera roll in your Photos application. Your screenshot will be the last image added to your camera roll.

How to Post Pictures on a Forum
Here's a video that explains it pretty good. The guy uses Photobucket, which is what I use too. But, there are a ton image hosting websites that can be used as well.

being fairly new to this board I am still trying to figure out how to get an avatar on since I am now Mars Bars I want one for my avatar any help out there?? thanks! Mars Bars formally Marville #33475134 I am really new to forums too. I have always been a reader of various forums but until now I have never participated. Here is how I created my avatar, I don't know if this is how everyone did it but I can only tell you how I created mine. Also since I grabbed an image from a website I don't know if that is some type of copy right infringement but it will only be for a couple of days so I don't mind and hopefully they won't either. Step 1 Find an image on the web. Right click on the image and choose properties. This will give you the url location that you can copy. (I found one for you but it may not be what you are looking for). t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSiOgxZMk9MZDnUlvyJ7-it9Qn28YqKZ4IZBXuv8qws913z_mBFUw Step1 Login and at the top below how many new messages you have choose profile. Step 2 Cut and paste the url into the Url Location Step 3 Optional Write a short message that will display under your avatar Step 4 Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit "Modify Profile" Step 5 Enjoy your new avatar Hopes this information is helpful. It took me a couple of times doing it for the picture to show up. Not sure if that is normal but it eventually worked on my second attempt.

If you have the image on your computer, just upload it on photobucket; and grab the URL from there. (I use the direct link).
If not, find an image. Save on computer. Upload to photobucket. Grab URL. Then follow steps from previous post.
Actually, go to your profile, then click on "Modify Profile" (beside Member's Bio)... then scroll down to Avatar URL, and paste the grabbed URL. Be sure to click on "Modify Profile" at the bottom to save.
My avatar is re-sized at 90 x 90 pixels.
Edit: Oh yeah, there might be some copyright issues. But I intend to take it down before they sue me -- if they ever find out. No biggie.

How to post an Avatar
First, save picture(s) using a photo storage site, such as Photobucket.com. Keep the desired picture open.
Open MyTown2.net in a second tab: - At the top of any page, click "Profile" from the menu going across the top. This takes you to the "Profile Page" - Left hand column, all boxes are closed. To open them, click the blue "Modify Profile"
Go back to PhotoBucket: - Place your cursor over the desired picture and right click it. - A popup menu will appear. - Click "Copy image URL"
Come back to MT2 and your Profile Page: Be sure the 'Avatar URL' box is completely empty of text. - Paste the URL into the Avatar URL box. - Scroll all the way down. - Far left corner, click "Modify Profile" to save.
notes: - For the avatar, you would want to use the direct link. For photos in posts, use the image code. (thx Moose Town!) - Maximum allowed width is 100 pixels, maximum allowed height is 100 pixels. You can key in smaller numbers if you want your picture to appear smaller. - You may have to tinker with the pixel numbers to get the right proportion so it shows up correctly.

Let me also note:
1. PHOTOBUCKET has an App in the App Store. You can upload the pics right from your device.
2. The Photobucket online site has awesome editing features (resize, crop, markups, etc.).

I am still having a problem adding an avatar. I think there are others out there having the same problem.
The instructions show how to upload a pic on here. I get that. It is the avatar that is the issue.
Where I am getting stuck:
Go back to PhotoBucket: - Place your cursor over the desired picture and right click it. - A popup menu will appear. - Click "Copy image URL"
I do not get "copy image URL". I don't know if it is because I am on windows 7? I do get other options like copy, but that isn't working either.
When I am in Photobucket, below the pic, I get the below (with web address that are not shown)
Email & IM http://s1190 etc
Direct link
HTML code
IMG code
IMG thumb
I have copied each of the different links (email, html etc) and none of them work. I also make sure I put 100 X 100, so it isn't too big.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

https is a secure protocal and can be problematicTwo posts from hereQuestion posted by jonniva « Reply #10 May 19, 2012 at 2:33pm » I have been using discussion boards for over 10 years. I can't get this one to show a pic from picasa. Click insert image, put cursor between , paste url (copied from pic and copied from link text Picasa gives you). I get blank. Aliens? Ghosts? Here is the link text: picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/CjvGoTW4ZteB3PbTvE8YJNhEX7miLkCxx9owWOj_TuE?feat=directlink And here is the image location (right click) lh4.googleusercontent.com/-YbMmsbjkJaM/T7gQ-UESslI/AAAAAAAABOw/5yEnoqV701M/s512/734142499.JPG
Neither are working. Please help me understand. TIAReply by oceanside « Reply #11 May 19, 2012 at 3:39pm » Jonniva - your URL has https in it which is a secure protocol. This is why it won't show your image. I can see it if I click on the URL directly. For the forums it's really better to use photobucket or imageshack. Picassa, Flickr, etc can be problematic due to privacy issues.

How To Add a Picture to Your PostIf you want to show a picture inside your post, type your text and when you are ready to place your image, put your cursor in the position you want the picture to appear. - Look above in the menu, 2nd row, fourth button, it looks like a scenery. If you hover your cursor over it, it will say "Insert Image" - Click it. You should get this ---> [/img][/b] <--- (No spaces; shown here with spaces to make it appear here) - Between the pairs of brackets, paste your url ---> paste url here [/ img] (again, NO spaces) - You can continue to type text. Once you are done... - Save (Post Reply) Proper Netiquette If you find a picture that you like on the web, it must first be part of public domain. The truly correct way is to first save the picture in a photo storage site, such as Photobucket, and then use the Photobucket url to paste here. Copying and using the picture's url directly from a site utilizes that site's bandwidth (which the owner is paying for) and could cause the site to crash.

Is there a thread for the photobucket app and uploading pictures? If so, please direct me there and if not, can someone tell me how to change the orientation of a screenshot? I just don't see how to do it... Thanks in advance.

Hi Snibull,
When you are in Photobucket, go to the picture in the album you want. Open the pic (only that pic should be on the page now).
Now hover your mouse over the pic. On the top you will see a banner:
File-Edit-Resize-Rotate-share-order prints
You can go into edit , resize or rotate.
Hope that Helps.

I am only having a problem on the photobucket app. If I take a screenshot of my town, I can't seem to rotate it on the app. I have to go on the computer or use photobucket through safari on the phone... and it is very very tiny tiny buttons. If anyone knows my luck with smites/exalts... my fingers don't work correctly with tiny buttons.

I don't have the photobucket appl on my phone, because of that exact reason..buttons too small, but if you are taking the pic on your phone, first go into the "photo" appl (where your camera roll is) open the pic and on the upper right hand side there should be an edit button. If not, tap the picture. Once you hit edit, on the bottom there are now icons. Pick the first arrow button and this with rotate your pic. Then save. Now you can upload to photobucket and it will be in the right way.

Maybe I need another photoapp to rotate and then upload to photobucket (which is very user friendly less the rotation thing). Thanks for your help!!

So why are my screenshots so small compared to others? I take a standard screen shot, crop it a little, and then upload it to photobucket where I just copy/paste the img file. They generally look like this: Others seem much larger. Are there screenshot settings somewhere on the iPhone? Or is there a difference between iphone and iPad? edit: Ah ha! Thanks T19j that's what it was. Inside of photobucket it was automatically resizing things to 320x240 +1 from me

It's most likely a setting on the photobucket upload. Often when your selecting your image to upload, there'll also be a box offering different resizing options, and the default may well be set to something small. There definitely is on the website anyway, I'm not sure about the app because I haven't used it. But have a look for that as it's by far the most likely explanation.

The Photobucket online site has awesome editing features (resize, crop, markups, etc.). I wanted to post stepwise instructions which helped at least one member during the Best of the Best contest. This is for using the photobucket app: After you take the screen shot 1. Open photobucket app 2. Choose upload media 3. Choose existing -on my phone it says "camera roll" as the option, it may be different on an iPad 4. Choose the picture you want 5. Choose stop and it'll go to your album 6. Once it uploads to the album, click on the picture you want 7. On the bottom right, you'll see an "i" in a circle, click it 8. The last code will be an img code, when you touch it it will say "copied img code" 9. Open MT2 and paste the code in your post for the thread. You can always preview your post to see what it will look like. In your post, just put a "return" between each picture so it'll have a space. You'll just go through the process each time to get the img code. Snibull 30719277
