Does anyone know how the order on your friends list is determined? For example Wonderland always appears first on list then when I add a mayor it randomally places name making difficult to locate.

It appears that it is based on how much population a city has.
The first four towns on my friends list are:
Used real data but left off the town name because I did not get permission if I could post their data. You can find them if you look around this forum.
First Town
Population: 526 million
Popularity: 2.1 million
Second Town
Population: 13 million
Popularity: 1 million
Third Town
Population: 5.7 million
Popularity: 87,000
Fourth Town
Population: 5.6 million
Popularity: 177,000
This is just my best guess and I could certainly be wrong but that is how I believe they are ranked.

Chilli's 100% correct. For a very long time I thought it was totally random. Then my sister (who got me started on this game) informed me that "the list is order based on popularity." She was close...but I concluded after investigating that popularity itself didn't determine the order but that more popular towns tended to be higher up on the list.
It's entirely done by population. This is why "popular" towns tend to be higher up - they are usually run by more competitive players who jacked up their population with things like Oscar trophies and subways and spotlights to max out their business counts, so that they could buy all the best businesses in the game.
Anybody who has Wonderland on their list should see him first, because he altered the game code to enhance his population to the astronomical height of over 2 billion (probably because he figured this out and wanted to be the first town viewed on everyone's friends list). This was done fairly recently, as he was never this high up before. He also altered the popularity ratings of all his properties...it's worth seeing. His Universal Studios has a popularity of 440,000,000!
So yeah, kudos to you, Chilli. It's an astute observation and a game secret that I myself only very recently figured out.
