Ok, this is probably out there already but I could not find it anywhere so here you go. I use an iPad for playing mt2 so I'm not sure if it will work on other devices.
First open up mt2 and collect all your businesses and housing, then select 1 hour jobs for all businesses.
Then go to settings and turn airplane mode on, go to general and select date and time.
Turn set automatically to the off position.
Select set date and time
Set the time forward by 1 hour
Go back to mt2 and you will see that all businesses and homes are ready to collect but do not collect them yet.
Go back to settings and turn the auto set time back to on
Go back to mt2 and collect everything and repeat the process
I have tried this with the 4 hour jobs as well, but when you set the time that far forward mt2 requires an Internet connection and will not reopen until you turn airplane mode off.
If when you go back to your town you get the message saying that it cannot connect to the Internet, make sure you go back to settings and turn auto date/time on before you turn airplane mode off otherwise your businesses may take longer to finish than what they should have in the first place.
Hope this helps

It actually only takes about 1 minute each time so it's faster than doing the 3 minute jobs and checking in.

It doesn't take very long, but you have to keep track of which "time zone" you're in. If you set a one hour job while you're an hour ahead, it'll take 2 hours when you're back in normal time. And if you slip and choose, say, 4 hours instead of one, you have to start over. It's also worth noting that not all games will react like this one in this circumstance, so don't play other games while you're futzing around with the time. Good job kingcny!
Also, I've noticed that the process is pretty rough on my battery levels. MT2 is always a little thirsty, but I was losing 1% each time I performed the bump. I have an ipad2, so just be aware of the battery levels.
Also, you'll need to go online every once in a while. A small delay.

The timejump can have it's drawbacks, as I have realized with my mothers iPad2. Suddenly the time to complete a 1 hour task took 36 hours and that was both on house rents and business jobs completed.

Yes, that will happen if you turn airplane mode off before you set the time and date back to the correct setting.

I just tried something to see if I could get the 4 hour jobs to work and I could. Follow the steps that Kingcny put in the first post except select 4 hour jobs for your businesses.
Go to your clock set it ahead 2 hours.
Open mt2 back up and close it without doing anything.
Go to the clock and set it ahead 2 more hours and 1 min for a total of 4h 1m.
Go back to mt2 and your jobs should be done.
I have done this over and over today. I also found out that the reason the job time jumps to 25 hours or more is when you move the clock past midnight trying to get this to work. So what I did was set my clock to 6 before I started so I wouldn't have that problem.

I have found the 4 hour collections worked exactly like the 1 hour collections. I just set my clock ahead 4 hours and I haven't had any problems. Just launch mt2 and let its messages load before turning airplane mode on so that mt2 won't try to connect to the internet.

Want to know how to finish 24 hour projects as well as 4 hour jobs and collect housing rents in one swoop? Follow these steps exact.
1. Make sure that your jobs are clear, your buildings have coins waiting to be collected, and DO NOT start building anything or buying any lots to clear just yet. THIS IS A CRUCIAL STEP.
2. Put in airplane mode. 3. Set date/time to manual 4. Turn DATE back TWO days. 5. Go back to Mytown 6. Build the buildings you want 7. Buy the lots you want to clear 8. Collect rents 9. Set 4 hour jobs 10. Go back to date/time and move DATE up TWO days to the current. 11. Go back to Mytown. Coins should show ready to collect, projects should finish. DO NOT COLLECT COINS YET!!! CRUCIAL!! 12. Turn DATE back TWO days. 13. Go back to Mytown, NOW collect your rents, and job coins. 14. Repeat step 6-13 until you are sick of it.
When you are finished, end at step 9, turn off airplane mode, set date to auto, go back, to Mytown and collect your coins and you will be back to normal.

For information purposes to anyone who cares. The reason the above steps work is because while you can't go forward too many hours without the app calling for an internet connection, you can go backwards as many days as you want. So you go back in time, set your activities, then go back to the present and voila collect away!
Note: this works on version 2.5.0.42:142. I have not updated to 2.5.1 yet. Maybe someone who has can report on that. I'm not updating until I have all the coins I want.

I have finally finished clearing my original tracks of land. Yay!!! Now onto the new expansions ...
Moving my clock ahead four hours did not work for me. Nor did moving it 2 hours then 2 hours and 1 minute respectively. I went with moving the date back 2 days, setting the jobs, etc and so forth. All 4 hour jobs were completed instantly as were buildings and clearing land.
The one thing that did NOT work with this trick was rent collections. Strange, I know, but the rents were completely uneffected by this.

So I have used this formula on games before such as Tiny Tower to use the clock to help with money totals etc, but… have never been able to get it to work with myTown2. After reading " kingcny"'s and " bosshogg"'s great instructions I had high hopes in this working, but alas there seems to be no way around the fact that myTown seems to need to always be in communication with the Mother Ship (Booyah). I keep getting a popup saying basically "do you want to try connecting again, if so click OK" and no other option which quickly finds it can't connect due to Airplane mode and asks the question again. I should state that this is after doing both sets of instructions to the letter, as well as a few of my own ideas. I really do assume this problem has everything to do with the fact I am using an iPod Touch 2nd Generation, running iOS 4.2.1 and it's lack of the ability to multitask. If anybody is using a similar setup and has had this work for them (or not) I would love to know. Thanks, darrennie

Damn! That is so awesome, I keep trying this trick and it just won't do it on my iPhone 3GS. Anyone try it on the iPhone 3GS? Thank you kingcny!! I was able to get 4.5 million in just over an hour...now that's what I call blitzing.
