I'm currently in Georgia, town of <5,000 (I think I have you beat Raven!). The town is known for the Great Locomotive Chase during the civil war, as seen in the namesake 1956 Disney Movie "The Great Locomotive Chase". It is also heart of the annual 90-mile Dixie Highway Yard Sale.
Georgia has to be one of my favorite places to live so far. It has 4 full seasons and the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen. The lottery will pay for most of the college education for the kids, as long as they graduate with a B average. Lots of years away, but right now... Georgia is home.

Since I encouraged this thread, I should at least contribute! Despite the rumour that I tried to start that I am from Finland (which oddly enough never took hold), I am from a small nation in the South Pacific known for green fuzzy fruit and birds that got too lazy to fly. Some interesting facts about my homeland: - we were the first country in the world to give women the vote (and the first country to have women in the top 3 offices in the country at the same time: Prime Minister, Governor General and Chief Justice) - New Zealand is known as a liberal nation, with Civil Unions, prostitution, brothel keeping and soliciting all being legal, and a drinking age of 18 - we have 3 official languages; English, Maori and NZ Sign Language - we were the last major landmass to be populated - 30% of NZ is forest - we are the first country in the world to see the new day - the furthest you can be from the coast in NZ is 75 miles - we have more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in the world - NZ has won more Olympic gold medals per capita than any other country www.newzealand.com/

Marshall, MO. Home of Jim the Wonder Dog, The Saline Co Philharmonic, Mo. Valley College Vikings and more notably....jazz musician Bob James. We're in the Heart of fertile farm ground, but also the center of rural poverty. Slowly dying small town.

I'm new so many of you don't know me yet. I'll share anyways though. I live in Euless, TX. 5 minutes away from Arlington, TX, 20 minutes from Dallas, TX and 25 minutes from Fort Worth, TX. So I pretty much live in the middle of everything. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euless,_TX

Raven, thank you for starting this topic. I have so enjoyed reading all the posts and look forward to more! I have noticed that you and I have some things in common - we were born in the same year, and I have a friend who lives in Surrey! I live in Houston, Texas - the largest city in Texas and the 4th largest city in the US. most people don't know that we have a wonderful museum and theatre district. I live fairly close to downtown in an older neighborhood in the house where my hubby grew up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston

These buildings are so futuristic looking. I have never ventured out of the United States, so I had to do some research

I love living near the mountains! I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. There is over 300 days of sunshine, seasons are mild and there is so much to see and do. Our population is near 500,000 and the military plays a very important role in our city. Here is a picture of the mountains and the place that I call home.

I had a hard time finding a single picture that showed the Olympic Stadium (1976!) AND my apartment (Yes, I actually live in that yellow circle, haha!). You can also see the Saint-Lawrence River and Mount Royal (pretty weak compared to your Pikes Peaks ) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal
