I was inspired today to change my town name from "Barracuda Bay" to "www.mytown2.net" in order to promote the website while I am doing my daily franchising and gifts. This I feel will get the message out to players looking for a home who have not found the site. While a lot of my friends include members of this community, there are also clearly a lot on there who have never been here, and it is worth reaching out to them.
I want to say that I was inspired by 2 members to do this:
1. iTown: he wrote out the site name in paved road to help attract new members, as his way of giving back to what he believes is a great site.
2. Kechibam: he recently changed his own town name to "mytown2.net go!" which made me realize what a great idea this really was.
I would like to hear what people think about this idea, and also to raise awareness that if you get a buck franchise from "www.mytown2.net," it is coming from yours truly, not a 7th or 8th Robin Hood, LOL.

Great idea guys! Ive been gifting random people all over in hopes of attracting more members. When I started I tried just typing in MT2.net in my browser but with no luck I wrote out the whole thing. It turned out pretty well though.

BB, iTown, Kechibam: Brilliant! Thank you very much! My town (and it just barely fits) is now SolsvilleMyTown2.net A little extra exposure never hurts.

Thx BB. I figured it was a good way to steer the random visitors to my town to check out this great forum. Many of them seem like they are struggling to earn coins to clear land and what better way to help them out than to point them in the right direction hope they take notice

I was wondering when i saw that today! Then i visited your town and saw it was youuuuuuu Barracuda! (see what i did there) Great idea, when my town settles down ill gladly do the road message thing! (having a new town means no accumulated clunky wonders or buck buildings so i have space)

Great idea, as you know I was hoping to find a way to contact friends on my list.
I've added the address to my town name for a couple of days too.

Great idea. I have a large amount of space I've been using for "TY Robin Hoods", which I could change to "mytown2.net".

Great idea indeed! I just change my town name to the URL. I have two friends who I can't wait to gift tomorrow so they see my town name and come visit. We've been gifting for one another for weeks but never had a way to communicate before!!

Clever idea changing your town names to publicize MyTown2.net. Just a reminder, the MT2 Forum Membership Directory will need to be updated. Please post in the directory thread when changing your information. Thanks!

Anybody care to take a look at and/or critique my shameless ingame plug? ;D
Seriously though, space is limited; is the .net portion clear enough?

It takes a few hours for the changes to take effect. I myself did flowers on Dalaran and hope it helps.

Is the .net portion legible in your opinion? It looks great. Very legible. If they can't make that out...maybe they should be playing on an iPad instead lol
