That is where Festivus came from - Seinfeld.

In 2001 we were on our way to the playoffs and the players were forbidden to say the "p" word out of some superstition. Soooo, they used the code word Festivus and soon it went viral - all over the radio, plastered on t-shirts, etc. Then of course we went to the Super Bowl and the players were once again forbidden to say the SB word out of some superstition hence it became Festivus Maximus. And we won that year!!!
