That is the worst feature of the game. I was happily collecting double coins this morning only to cost myself 60 bucks in the process because of that stupid upgrade button.

I have fell victim 3 times. Its a B*tch and definitely intentional. They hope you will then buy them to make up. No, you're wrong, it's not intentional. At least I highly doubt it. First off, Booyah's not that smart. Secondly, anytime someone contacts them complaining about a mistap, they refund the bucks and credit it back to your account. I strongly suggest anybody who has "accidentally upgraded" to tell Booyah and demand your bucks back. They'll give them to you. The truth is that it is just plain pisspoor design and as much as they've been made aware of it, they haven't corrected it. I honestly do not know what their "development team" spends all day doing besides coming up with new special limited content, but they are definitely not improving game functionality as much as they should be.

That's good to hear. I emailed them this weekend to complain about it. I'd love to see those bucks back. I'm sure they are swamped wading through all the email complaints after this weekend.

I got a response back this afternoon and they gave me 300 bucks and an apology! Not bad considering I only lost about 120 bucks. Now what to buy?

This button is so annoying!! Have just accidentally wasted around 70 bucks upgrading a building that wasn't far away from it's next level anyway. Why there isn't a confirm button, I just don't understand.
Not the first time I have accidentally done this, and i bet others have done this too.
Booyah - please, please amend this feature so that confirmation is required!

You should e-mail Booyah. They will do a one time reimbursement for accidentally clicking the upgrade button. Unless you've already been compensated I'd give it a shot. Sadly most people outside this forum are not aware of this.

I perused through the threads and "stupid button placement" is out there. This one or that one may be squashed.
Either way, shaneuk, I'd ask again. I did it twice and they refunded me both times.
I really think Booyah make tons of bucks on this. The level 10 businesses don't have the upgrade button (obviously) and so to rewrite the code would only require copying the code for level 10 businesses. I don't think Booyah will change it, though.

Many of us have done it multiple times--while collecting business revenue we tap the orange colored Instant Upgrade button and spent precious Bucks by mistake.
At this time, there seems to be a time delay within Booyah's server. This will help you undo the Instant Upgrade. I've done this re-installation to recover Bucks twice and it worked both times, BUT this is offered with a warning and is at each person's risk.
CAUTION 1: Depending when your town was last saved, you WILL lose progress, revenue, and any changes. So decide carefully if the progress is worth recovering the Bucks.
The steps are: - Quickly exit your game. - Delete your game from your iDevice. - Go to the App store and "REINSTALL" MT2. - or - - Use iTunes and reinstall the game from the copy stored on your computer. (I do not use iCloud to save my games).
Either way, your town will be reloaded to how it was when it was LAST saved.
CAUTION 2: If and when Booyah's server begins saving real time, reinstalling from the App store will probably no longer work.

Today I had 85 green bucks which I had been saving, then tonight I noticed this had dropped to 18 What on earth is going on as I havn't bought anything !!! Hope someone can suggest something. Can this be reported?? That happened to me back in January. I had 83 bucks and it dropped down to 17 for no reason. I didn't buy anything and I didn't upgrade anything. I emailed Booyah and they gave me the bucks back.

Hello everybody,
I would like to ask about something that has happened to me a few times. I have hit the upgrade button when I meant to hit the jobs button. I have never asked Booyah for the bucks back but I just lost 50 bucks just now and that is very frustrating. Is there any way to get them back? Its not the end of my town, but a confirm button would be nice. What makes this worse is it seems that I have to "try" to hit those time buttons, but I can seem to hit the upgrade one easily by mistake. I enjoy the game very much and I really try to be careful. I dont like wasting the gifts that have been given to me. As always, thanks to my friends that have helped me.

I don't like wasting the gifts that have been given to me. As always, thanks to my friends that have helped me. We all have done that, its frustrating for sure. There is a way, but it is risky and that is to delete and redownload the game from iTunes. If Booyah does not update their servers in the meantime, you will load a previous version of the game, one before the accidental upgrade. This also means you will loose any franchises you received just prior to that. From what other people have said in the forum, Booyah saves their servers every 4 hrs or so. In the past, they used to reimburse for accidental ungraded, but don't anymore, not since they made some changes to the menu and gave some more space between the upgrade button and the 4 hr job. I left something on your town to ease the pain . Don't delete the game unless you have to, or want to switch locations.

My land poor, almost bankrupt little town is pretty upset with the mayor. Accidentally upgraded a business, and wiped out the bucks I'd been saving for the DJ, a luau, or a barn. Needed to get my population up another 7000....just in case the game will let me buy businesses again. I had been waiting for an instant build icon....so I could keep playing.
The Booyah people said that I might get the population function working again if I adjusted my router, rebooted my I pad, or reinstalled the MT2 game.
Several of you avid players have been so generous to helpme out, but I seem to continue goin downhill. Will I lose the coins, bucks, and property I have if I reinstall the game?
Is there anyway to start a new game with a different web address on the same I Pad? (sorry I'm not very literate re gaming tech!)

Is there anyway to start a new game with a different web address on the same I Pad? (sorry I'm not very literate re gaming tech!) First make sure your game has the most current updates - from apple (icloud or by connecting to itunes) DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK- Some of us have done this to change our location setting. You can delete MT2 and reinstall. Delete the app and it will tell you alll data will be deleted Then it will ask if you want to "keep" or "remove" the game center data hit- KEEP Now reinstall A few hints: 1. Don't do this if you are on low battery UNLESS you are plugged in and not at risk of your device shutting down. 2. Don't do this if you are in an area with poor reception. If you don't hit "keep" or the data fails to sync after you select to delete, you could lose your town. Read more: www.mytown2.net/index.cgi?board=tips&action=display&thread=44#ixzz26TYKCk9H

I lost a lot of coins and bucks a couple of times with inadvertent tapping, but what Ireally can't understand is exactly what benefit there is for some of the upgrades. For example... Just barely avoided upgrading my college at a cost of 7.5 million plus! I like the level 1 community college look..... So would an upgrade unlock some new 'skins' not shown yet, or is there a reward in some other way? When you reach max population, there's no reason for higher population items, is there? Is it just a 'status' thing? Just curious.

Is it just a 'status' thing? Just curious. No there's no hidden skins. You just get pop and xp. I only changed the skins on my community buildings but I haven't paid for the population upgrades. I'm officially at business max (my pop has gone up 500 000 since I hit max). I'm saving the community building upgrades just in case they do increase the business number and again and I need to increase population quickly to bring my extra businesses out of storage. I'm sure some players consider a challenge just to see how high they can get their population

I accidentally did an upgrade today for 6+ million...darn it! Glad I had plenty of coins and I too noticed that not much is gained by making such an expensive upgrade.
What is the max pop?

I've wondered this as well. o.o I'm at 2.05 million right now, and only have a small triangle of my meter (which is at level 35 because I've put away a business for franchising purposes) filled. I should drop a few Tea Houses and see what happens... Update : I dropped 13 Tea Houses in L'Arc and there was no effect on my meter, which went from 2.5 mil to 4 something. Still just a tiny triangle full in the corner. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there is no population cap....though someone who filled an entire map with Libertys could prove me wrong. XD
