I had the Fashion Museum, but still have 7 spaces open so watch out you blue footed booby prize leaders I'm coming for you.  I don't get out to the library as much as I would like any more. I do genealogy research and the library is the place to go for the old newspaper articles since I refuse to pay to see them online if they're even available online. I know I'm dating myself, but it kind of turned me off when they got rid of the old card catalog. I'm sure they've improved their computer search system since I used it last, but the few times I went there and used the computer it took longer to find what I was looking for than if I had just gone to the card catalog. Sometimes having access to more information isn't helpful. I keep saying I have to get there and dig through the newspaper archives, maybe in the next couple of weeks before it gets too cold and I don't want to go out. Please tell me they still use microfilm for the newspapers. It was a pain, but that's what I had always used and considering some of the rulings in this state concerning the use of library computers I'm not really comfortable touching them. I wonder if the librarian look at me funny if I put on latex gloves first. |
