I am trying to save coins for either juicer or ice cream maker, which one should I get first?

Tonia, I still haven't gotten either. My original plan was to hold out and buy the jewelry maker when I can get it, but I ended up spending all my money to get materials to expand my barn and silo and get some land expansion items. My new plan is to use to Tom as much as I can to buy things cheap and sell them for full price to try to save up money for at least the ice cream maker since that seems to be what I get the most requests for on my boat. I've decided to relax on the boat for a while and only fill it if it's for things that aren't too difficult to get. If I don't want to fill it, I'm just letting it sit there until it leaves on it's own. I figure no point in casting off to get another boat that I probably won't fill. I'm sure there is a much better way to do things, but I'm content plugging away for now. I have spent some money to buy gems on sale which has helped; although, the offer I just got was ridiculous. Sale or no sale, I'm not spending $60+ at one time for a game.
I have realized that I need to get over my need to expand my farm. It's driving me nuts that it's so cluttered, but I have to get over that and concentrate on getting other things done.
Edit: Has anyone else had friends show up on the need help tab, but when you go to their farms there aren't any exclamation points? It's happened to me a couple times and at first I thought maybe someone else helped them before I was able to. However, I have one friend right now who has been on the needs help tab for days & I just can't find what it is that they need help with.

I try not to spend any real money on this game (may be some, but not a lot). Hate it when I accidently use the gems. Like you I invest coins heavily on expanding storage capacity of both silo (350) and barn (375), and use whatever gems I found for addition queue slots in all machines (mostly 3 now). That is why I am slow in buying additional buildings (poor in coins). It is fun to hunt for construction materials since they are gone really in the ads. This game will take time same as Smurf Village and Smurf Life that I am also playing (my husband plays Clash of Clans and also helps me in Hay Day and Smurf Village). About the exclamation mark, possibly someone already helped at the boat or bought items at the stand.

I have 3 friends that are permanently marked as as needing help. According to comments on the facebook page by hay day staff, it is a known glitch. No real money spending for me. I went the opposite path - got the juicer and ice cream. I'm not doing many of my own boats but the machines are constantly going. I get the most use out of the ice cream machine. I'm going to for coffee stand next - few levels left so I'm saving. I'm going to back to do extra smelters and jewellery making after I get the food sorted.

Should we check background of those walk-in our farms asking to buy TNT and dynamites?

Anyone has the same or hear of a problem like I have at roadside stand and SuperCell can't help: Only on my ipad 2, plus signs to increase item number and price do not respond even their color are gold. I try to reduce the number then tap the plus signs to get the number back up and they don't work either. The plus signs worked before then ceased to work. Uninstall and reinstall the game do not resolve the problem. Now every time I sell items, I have to use my iphone.

Tonia that is weird. There was a small update a few days ago that fixed some problems that people were having after the update that added the postman. You probably already updated but I thought I'd mention it just in case.
So FYI, I know someone who had a follower they wanted to drop because the follower's farm name was a very crude phrase. Her kids played sometimes and she didn't really want them to have to see it constantly. So I found this in their forums and it works:
" You can delete followers. Here's how:
Step one: make sure YOU have an open space to add a follower. If all five of your spaces are full, you will have to unfollow someone.
Step two: go to the farm of the follower you want to get rid of. Click the ribbon to follow their farm, then click again to unfollow.
Step three: completely close Hay Day out (ie go to home screen, push home button twice in quick succession, press and hold the HayDay icon that appears at the bottom of screen until a red circle with a "minus" sign appears, tap the minus sign to close HayDay app).
After you return to the game that follower should be gone "

--> Fleetwood, I don't worry about saws and axes, they can't pass airport security. --> Brenda, nope, it still doesn't work after the update. Something is in conflict with my ipad apps but the weird thing is the buttons work for sometime then stops working, then work for few hours then stop again.

Tonia, sounds like ur having problems with the iPad itself. Worst comes to worst, u may need to restore ur iPad. It's a pain but it usually resolves all issues. Anyone get any cool gifts with the mailman? I'm beyond ticked off! I cashed in on 10 gift cards in the beginning and got coins...saved up 20 for the medium box and got nails...did another small box and got a duct tape! Are u serious, SC?!?! We waited almost a month for this?? I can get coins, nails, and duct tapes on my own. What a serious letdown this whole mailman thing is .

Haha, go figures with your luck, at least you got construction materials (hint: they are hot). I have ton of double boards (wood panels) and badly need 5 bolts and 5 nails.

I'm still not a fan of the mailman. The only difference between the in game one and the real life one is he doesn't bring bills. I'm going to wait until I get 30 cards to cash in, but given Kech's experience I don't have high hopes of getting anything useful. Again much like what the real mailman brings. It's a bit annoying that you can only get 5 gift cards a day. It's hard enough finding farms that I can help and when I find one that has a bunch of trees or bushes to revive it would be nice for them to be able to send a gift card for each one. Same if someone gives me a lot of help, I'd like to know that I'm sending them gift cards. Geesh, it's not like they're being uber-generous with what you get for trading them in anyway.

I like the idea of the giftcards but the reality is disappointing. i cashed one batch in and got a screw. I'm finding that I'm starting to struggle to stay interested in this game. I'm hanging on to get my coffee machine.

Hi Galit!
I'm more interested in the game than I was, but I'm finding it very frustrating that deeds are so hard to find. All the other expansion materials are slow to get, but I've only received 1 deed for activity on my farm all the rest I either got lucky and found at roadside stands or a couple I paid diamonds for just so I could free up a little space in my barn. What's even more frustrating is that I would have had 2 from farming activity, but the game crashed. When I opened it again it was as though I hadn't collected whatever it was that I had just collected and when I did it again I didn't get anything. Same thing has happened when I've tried to buy some. I was so annoyed, I'm not even sure if the game took the money or not.
For a while I was really focused on getting my boats out, but I haven't filled one in a few days. Instead I've been making ice cream to sell or sending Tom off to buy it cheap and resell for max. I got tired of being cash poor and having to use Tom to get juice and ice cream, so I figured I'd use him to get enough money to buy the ice cream maker and work on building up my cash for the juice maker and jewelry maker (when it becomes available).
