I'm off too so I can PM the RHs. Y'all are just too fantastic. Out of respect for the RHs and what is about to happen, I have to PM them the results before they are posted. This may take the weekend mind you--- 42 towns in total + 9 towns franchised per the contest + A town that is going to have so many handshakes, one of the handshakes might need to jump off the screen and snap that person back into reality! I hate to sound like an uber asshole, but what was the point of competing and what is the honor of placing in 1st / 2nd / 3rd in all the categories if everybody playing is getting their entire town franchised?
It seems like an incredible copout after all the prizes were pre-announced. I understand the whole "feel good" atmosphere, but this is just way too excessive IMHO.
I am hoping maybe this was just a joke...

In the end, the winners of the Best of the Best town contest who do place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each of the categories as well as honorable mention will forever be able to keep that title. The whole point was to have fun, see some towns, and get kudos from fellow members. Having a gracious robin hood come along and offer up his time to do what he thinks would be in good fun ... for something that has been very positive for the community ... is totally cool in my books. Not going to knock anyone down, hopefully raise a few spirits. And if a member has enough bucks and doesn't want to be franchised, just post it here or PM me. It's all in good fun |

Thank you Snibull again for all your work putting this fantastic contest together and also for all the work you did posting pictures for everyone, me included. It was a lot of work for you and also for the participants, pretty-ing up all those towns and trying to make everything just right.
It is incredibly generous of the RH's to franchise everyone and also do extra extra extra for the big winners. Whatever compensation you decide is best is exactly Right! Your contest your choice.

It's all in good fun Hear hear, I second you Snibull!! I hear what BB is saying, but it's just a game, and it's about having fun and everyone can run their contest as they see fit. It's not the Olympics, we don't have to take it serious. I don't think anyone that entered has taken it seriously. There are plenty of other contests where there is just one winner and a couple of runners up and that's that. I think it's nice to have different strokes for different folks and not every contest has to be run in the same vain. Snibull preoperative as it's her contest. I thank you again for all your hard work Snibull and for the RHs making the prizes possible. It's been all you have said above and I think even those not entering have enjoyed viewing the towns. And you certainly all had a good laugh with you announcing this last minute twist lol. Three cheers.  |
