You all are lucky to live somewhere where businesses are close. I live in the Caribbean and found the 25meter check in impossible then one day I looked and it was done. Weird but great. I am learning a lot from you guys. Thanks I would suggest that it's you who's the lucky one. I live in a community with lots of Caribbean people who are always travelling back to Jamaica or Nevis or somewhere equally exotic. It makes me just a little bit jealous! ;D

This was one of the easiest goals for me, I had location service switched off, then clicked on the first check in that wast my business, wasn't even a cafe and it cleared the goal, and the subsequent door step challenges too!

You have to be within 25 meters. And obviously the GPS/triangulating location mechanism that they use is not always accurate. Once you get within the 25 meters, buy the business, then check in. Then change the business type and check in again. Keep doing this until you have achieved this goal on all business types. Another note that I have seen to be true. Since they are using either Google or Yahoo or mapquest 3rd Party maps, most addresses are marked at the street in front the the business. That's why you see so many people complain about not getting "doorstep" check-in when they are IN the location. Go to the street and you will be close. In the original MyTown, I used to be able to check-in to multiple businesses while sitting at a stoplight in front of the business. Hope this helps. Sol, Q-Is it just a one time business I need to fulfill, or do I need to fulfill this one/only goal using all the "different" types of categories.......cafe, office, entertainment, etc? Best I might guess is that I will have to drive 60 miles to complete and how do that if no access to wi-fi at that point and time on iPod, iPad. Best I remember is that I think I have tried to do goals ac while I'm playing and I think it won't let me venture off the "town page"......... Will have to work on it......thanks everyone for help and some new info.... Big Bridge

Bridgid,
It will be "one-time" for each business type. Once you complete the RESTAURANT goal, the next business type will pop up. So, if you can find ANY business within 25 meters, you can change the business type of that business to complete ALL of the goals.
If you need wifi, maybe go to a Starbucks or other establishment that has wifi and see if you can get into the 25 Meter range and then complete the goals.

Judy - Try going to the street in front of the biz (as far as you can and still pick up wifi signal) and keep hitting refresh on the check-in page. You should be able to get the distance to zero in better. Darn I was just out trying to do this stood right in front of the front door and nothing when I hit check in (question DO you have to buy the resataurant just before you check in??) OR can you buy it and go over to it and give this a try?? since I have an ipod I have to find a place with wifi to do this so it is very frustrating - I was at the local Starbucks and it would not find it as a business sigh I am about to give up on this one it is my last one too (I think) PS people would think me nuts running around town trying to do this if they knew why I was out and about

Marville, Have you ever done the location switching thing? I finished my restaraunt check in when I switched to San Fransisco (along with several others). You don't even have to check into a restaraunt sometimes. If you click on any business with the bullseye on it, you get credit for it. But if you do switch locations to San Fransisco, Sushirrito usually has a bullseye next to it. Hope that helps you

OK this is driving me nuts I tried this at McDonald's this morning because they have the Wi-Fi needed for my tiny ipod well I walked all around that building and could NOT get it to register within the 25 meters needed for local restaurant within 25 meters. I went inside, stood at the door, walked away from the door step by step then aroundd the building - by that time people were beginning to look at me like I was crazy or something stopping every few seconds to check my ipod - well will try another restaurant again and see what happens - very frustrated LOL the only good part of it is I did my good deed for the day by helping 2 older people in walkers get into McD's Marville- I feel your pain. I had to check in to a restaurant by going to the farthest point in the building so I could finally be within 25 meters. Guess where that was....the last stall in the women's restroom. It was then that I knew I was an MT addict. Definitely not my proudest moment. lol
