Hi Everyone!
I've seen some of your awesome screenshots posted here and in the original other thread on macforums. Very impressive cities.
But here's the thing. I noticed in many screenshots, the choices for kicking off a job at a business included four options, I believe: 3 min, 15 min, 2 hours and like 8 or 10 hours.
Since I started playing MT2 a few months ago, I've also had the choice of like 3 min, 15 min, 1 hour and 4 hours. I may not be getting those perfect, but the key was the last one. 4 vs 10. Can jobs still go for 10 hours straight? If so, why wouldn't I be able to do that for any of the businesses in my town?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and help!

I can answer this. When you make a town, there are two sets of job times which you may be assigned:
(A) 3 minutes 15 minutes 1 hour 4 hours
(B) 3 minutes 30 minutes 2 hours 10 hours
Which one you get appears to be completely random: it doesn't matter when you started, where you live, what time of day you signed up, etc. Once you get it, you can't change it: those are your job times for all businesses. A or B.
It sounds bizarre that a company would make two different sets of times for the same game and they have never explained it. I do believe at the beginning there was no "A" and that it came later after speaking to a lot of players.
We've tried to figure this one out and maybe at some point they will homogenize everything. But for now, that is the way it is.
We have confirmed that to date you can start up and still get A or B. You appear to be as likely to get A as B. Surprisingly, a lot of players are totally unaware of this.

Thanks for clarifying! Very useful information and at the same time, totally bizarre of Booyah to do this!
I wonder if I could contact them to switch me because I'd MUCH rather have a 10 hour option than 4 hour max!
Any reports of being able to switch it?
EDIT: FWIW, I just emailed them through their website to ask. Will report back if/when I get a response!

Never heard of anybody switching it personally. I highly doubt Booyah would agree to that, although from a coding perspective it is probably pretty easy to change. The reason is, it would open up a floodgate for any number of the millions of players to reach out and say "please switch me from A to B...or B to A." Would clearly be a logistical disaster for them.
What they should do is include in the next update a job times standard, choosing A or B (or even some C variant that we haven't seen before). Just make it the same for all players.
If you do contact Booyah and they agree to change it (or give some reason why these two conflicting times are given out), please let us know here at the MT2 Game Forum. We'd be eager to share the info!

I'll definitely keep you apprised of their reply.

Can you believe this!!
So I got a reply that the (A) option Barracuda listed above is the ONLY option and only VERY FEW select users are EXPERIENCING A BUG which is showing the (B) option. She went on to say that the (A) option is the only one any users should ever see.
What the heck?!

Bug? Then it's been around a long time. I've had (B) since November.
It seems we need a poll to see how many As and Bs there are.

ZOMG, maybe we are giving Booyah too much credit. Could they possibly be this out of touch?
My brother and sister live a town away from me and both have the B option. Many members here at the forum have claimed to have the B option and pretty much everyone I talked to who was actually here in Oct / early November has the B option. At one point, I believe there were even people claiming that the "B" option was more prevalent! Now they are claiming it is an ultra rare bug??? WTF.
The thing is, the answer makes no sense because people signing up now are still getting B, although it does seem to be cropping up with less frequency. If this really is a bug issue, why didn't Booyah nip this in the bud long ago?
And if the B times were ever made available, they must have been programmed in with some purpose. I mean, they are not random times; they are pretty well thought out as an alternative to A.
Sometimes Booyah says things that make my head hurt.

Totally agreed. I feel like I should call them or drop by their offices (local to me) and ask them point blank! It makes little to no sense at all. I just wish I had 10 hour jobs!!

I have mentioned that there is 2 iPods that does the 4 hours max, and the rest (old ipod, iphone, ipad) does the 10 hour ones. My Dalaran town is on the iPad and does the 10 hour shift

iphone 4s - mine does the 10 hour shifts. So much more convient for overnight, only drawback is sometimes I have to wait the next morning for them to finish. Not to worry, those times become reading time.
